I was thinking he was looking for top dollar in the $14-16 million range but he basically said he would have signed the 3 year $31.5 million deal they gave Justin Reid to replace him. $10 mil for 3 seasons with 2/3 guaranteed so you can move on after 2 years if you wanted to would be a risk I’d gladly take with us having over $20 mil in cap space now.

I'm thinking we have had solid conversations with HB. It could be a mutual respect type of thing. If Tyrann gets some great $$ offer from another team, then take it. But we want you and if it's close, come this way.

Well he said he would take that to stay with the Chiefs. That doesn’t mean he would take that to play for us.

Hot take: he's not worth $10M/year anymore.

Its sad this hasn't happened yet - plus it would get us closer to taking best player available at the draft which you can't really put a price tag on

Colts +500
Eagles +400
Chiefs +400
Rams + 500

Don't think that is a hot take at all. I agree. He is worth maybe $7-$8.5 million.

It's not going to be 10 mil guaranteed for each year.

Y'all are telling me mathieu isn't worth 3 years 30 mil with 16 guaranteed.

I'm not even super high on mathieu. He is 29 and small.

I don't think he was really that good last year for KC. His value would be for a team with a young secondary.

Also, we have CGJ who makes Mathieu redundant to an extent as they're very similar smaller, NB-hybrid types. I think CGJ is better so Mathieu would be more of a depth signing which makes him a $4-5M/year player not a high-end starter level worth $10M/year.

If we were going to spend $10M/year on Mathieu and $9.5M/year on Maye, we should have just kept Marcus Williams

They didn’t like Sean I don’t think it was really a hate the Saints thing with those two.
