That's the boat I'm in, except I don't have one.

I'm better off getting a new set of wheels with big tires.

Vacations don’t have to be expensive, but I have found it therapeutic to go on an expensive vacation.

As long as the expense part is like airfare and not fricking Disney or some stupid shite like that.

whats the point of having money if you aren't going to spend it? don't work so hard to make it if you are afraid to use it.

I’m flying a family of 5 to Florida three times this year and Louisiana twice. Some times you just gotta say frick it.

Nope. Love to go on vacations.

Because I don't care about

Sometimes a short road trip to a small resort town or golf destination is better than a grand exotic vacation. I prefer that.

As in new rims? Is there anything wrong with your existing rims and/or tires?

Certainly, there are ways to vacation that completely waste money, but don't try to justify it with another complete waste of money.

I’m not too cheap, I’m just too depressed to think a vacation would bring me enough joy to justify the expense.

What does “have money” mean to you? You got your tax return back?

We tent camp across the Rockies. Once you have equipment, it is cheap and amazing. If we weren't camping, I wouldn't be able to afford that kind of trip on a teacher's salary.

Why does a vacation have to be expensive?

My wife and I try to go to a national park every year. We tent camp most of the time. We are going to Great Smoky Mountain NP this year.

Usually grill steaks, deer meat, etc for most of the dinners. Also vac seal meals during the year to bring. It's low stress for me since nothing is really planned. It can be pretty high stress for my wife since I don't let her know what gas stations I plan on stopping at 3 months in advance.

Money has been tight the last 2+ years. Plus traveling seems more expensive than it previous was

Do a camping trip. They are fun. Almost certainly there's a nice National or state park near you, and if you don't want to do tent camping you can rent a cabin in some.

Awesome trip for the kids or a group of adults

I’m completely opposite. The one thing I will splurge on is traveling, especially out of the country. Meanwhile, I’ll continue driving my 14 year old truck until it leaves me on the highway.

Flying 5 out of New Orleans to Las Vegas and renting a car for a week for a Grand Canyon/Sedona/Zion tour for a combined $1500 including rental. It doesn’t have to be expensive, you just have to look for the deals.

I travel as often and as much as I can. Preferably out of the country.

We don't have kids so I'm going to spend money on things that make me happy, and traveling is one of those. People don't get out and see enough of the world. I'm not going to be old and look back and have a lot of regrets about not doing the things I wanted to.
