2006 Ford F-150KR: 5.4

Those engines were manufactured with oil valleys that were too small. If you didn't change your oil every 3-5k, regardless of type, you'd eventually run a cylinder low of oil because of gunk build up. Then boom.

07-09 GM 5.3L AFM engines. When the truck would go to 4 cyl mode, fluid would build up in the cylinder and would blow out the cheap lifters when you went to accelerate. That would chain reaction to the cam shaft and BOOM. Blew an engine at 40K miles. GM replaced under warranty without a whole lot of fuss.

I love Toyota overall but I wish Toyota would admit to the faulty door lock actuators, supposedly made by one company. I hope one of these days a class action lawsuit against the maker comes to fruition...

18-23 Jeep Wrangler JL/JLU

Major rust issues that Jeep doesn't want to fix. its so bad they had to extend the warranty from 3 to 5 years. Plus 3 Technical service bull. also a class action lawsuit on it.

2007-2010 GMC acadia Buick enclave chevy traverse. Had major transmissions issues that GM never recalled.

Jeeps 3.6 motor cam phasers and lifters tick. Engine oil cooler. 2012 wrangler had major head issues too.

It was new, and I took care of it

I figured it was the valve guides; cold start, blue smoke. IDK, though.

Bought a gas F250 in 2014. At 5000 miles the crank shaft started going through the bearings toward the front of the truck. New motor. At 15000 it did the same thing. This time they wanted to rebuild the lower end. No go, slap another one it. About 18000 it did again...they said the oil had not been changed properly. When I produced the receipts where they charged me to change the oil every 3000 miles or less they backed up and claimed the odometer wasn't correct and it was out of warranty. Ford certified the odometer (there ain't no turning them back no more, the manufacturer can read them from Detroit no matter what the odometer says or onboard computer says). Dealer finally bought it back. Went straight to the GMC Dealer and bought a 3500 with a better package for less money. It only has 85,000 on it but it has never given a minutes trouble.

All of them. The ultimate truck would be a Cummins in a Ford chassis.

With an ALlison transmission.

Toyota. Oil gel issue. ours maybe got a new engine. can't remember.
Toyota. Door lock actuators. again.
Buick (1998) had a bad ignition wiring harness that went out within a year but never had any other issues that weren't due to age.
Toyota. clunking steering column. also hate the accelerator pedal response.

2021 Honda Passport. Had to have most of the car's interior removed to fix rattles and other annoying noises.

Seems to be a current Hinda issue as civics and accords have this problem as well.

I have an 07 Tundra, and early in its life the whole sticking Toyota accelerator thing came up.

My truck never had a problem and the accelerator was smooth as glass up and down. I got the recall notice and took it in. The service manager told me “people have had their floor mats jamming the pedal”, but they did something to the truck and the accelerator hasn’t operated smoothly ever since.

The transmission cooler and radiator was 1 piece. The connections to both are next to each other. When they broke the radiator fluid leaked in the Transmission cooler causing a strawberry looking transmission fluid

Apparently Nissan didn't learn because the 2005 generation pathfinder had a similar issue. The radiator had a defect where after so many miles it would leak the transmission fluid and radiator fluid together. Causing the dreaded strawberry like color of the transmission fluid. It effectively burnt your transmission up causing thousands of dollars in damage. I don't believe Nissan ever did a recall on this. Suggested fixes (before transmission burn up) is to get a transmission cooler, disconnect transmission lines to radiator, and run transmission fluid through the cooler.

People keep thinking Honda now is the Honda of 20 years ago, but it isn't.

I had an rx8 for about 3,000 miles before its emergency brake failed when I (stupidly) had it parked NOT in gear at the top of a hill. Now, I was a kid at the time and it was my first stick shift... for context. And at the top of this steep driveway, it was flat as a pancake (well, not flat enough i guess but it's not like it rolled when i got out of my car).

Anyway, i had a letter in the mail 2 weeks after it took a swan dive into a neighboring house across the street that said the o2 sensor had a recall that causes, among other things, the emergency brake to fail because things got too hot underneath it.

long story short: their faulty part caused my emergency brake to fail, and i was too pissed to buy another mazda after that.

FTFY

Still not sure who Chevy was designing and marketing this vehicle towards, but it's right there with the PT Cruiser as far as one of the ugliest and most pointless vehicles to ever exist
