Is it possible for someone to believe this without having Paranoid Personality Disorder or at least being on the PPD spectrum, maybe even bumping up against the Paranoid Schizophrenia spectrum.

I think that a strong argument possibly could be made either way.

I'm no world renowned psychiatrist or anything, but personally I think it's impossible to be a "Conspiracy theories are basically just spoiler alerts" person without at least being on the PPD spectrum and dangerously close to the Paranoid Schizophrenic spectrum. Bat shite crazy/Stay back Alert, basically.

One or two is probably fine, especially if it seems plausible.

Making research an obsession and believing every single theory is a sign of mental problems, man.

That diagnosis sounds like all of my older siblings; especially the last one. Is that abnormal?

What is paranoid personality disorder (PPD)?

Paranoid personality disorder (PPD) is a mental health condition marked by a long-term pattern of distrust and suspicion of others without adequate reason to be suspicious (paranoia). People with PPD often believe that others are trying to demean, harm or threaten them.

People with paranoid personality disorder often don’t think their behavior and way of thinking are problematic.

PPD is one of a group of conditions called Cluster A, or eccentric personality disorders. People with these disorders have unusual and eccentric thinking or behavior.

It’s important to note that people with paranoid personality disorder don’t experience delusions or hallucinations with paranoia, as commonly seen in schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder and severe manic episodes in bipolar disorder.

I'd probably agree with you and that's a good point. 2 would probably be the over/under for large scale multi-national conspiracy theories.

In my humble opinion, the field of psychiatry is not an exact science firstly, and secondly thinking critically / not being naive / trusting but verifying are all aspects of what I consider high IQ people.

Not believing everything you read / hear works both ways and is a two-way street....

We are subject to believe what we want to hear and stick to it rather than explore the origin of what we hear. We can be lazy in that respect but encouraged by the data and promote it as fact.

Opinions can become facts before the truth ever reaches the starting gate…

Even the gay frogs thing is kind of true. You're just terrified of the truth.

And well you should be.

You are what I like to call, WRONG! Perhaps, if you’d actually dig into this subject, you’d be diagnosed with PPD too! Go jump off a bridge loser!

^^^Do QAnon, Taylor Swift, Brian Kemp's son-in-law and Giant Jewish Space Lasers next.

For QAnon, please start with adrenachrome. That shite is delicious! I have a cup with every meal.

The adrenochrome conspiracy, a bizarre theory with antisemitic roots, posits that Satan-worshipping global and Hollywood elites run a massive child trafficking ring to drain their blood and harvest the chemical adrenochrome to stay young, and has been embraced by subscribers of the QAnon and Pizzagate conspiracy movements, including key people affiliated with the recent hit movie The Sound of Freedom.

You and nycguy are in the lead for most retarded threads of April.

Wouldn't shock me if y'all are both from the same Chinese sock farm.

I realize these shitty troll spam bots boost engagement but they have really upped the trashy factor here.

The true believers, sure. The ones blocking roads, burning cities, destroying communities and lives, etc. Anyone who does any of that are definitely drinking some toxic Kool-aid.

Your problem is you're starting with a position that is too general to really mean anything.
There are obviously "conspiracy theories" that turned out to be true, proved, and admitted to. So a position that completely dismisses all "theories" is obviously off the mark. But that doesn't mean all "theories" are legitimate. So discernment leads you to some kind of middle ground between these extremes.
For the psychological aspects, take a look back at the Milgram experiment and the Stanford prison experiment for the other end of the spectrum. You'll see some obvious disorders and lunacy involving authority, and acquiesing to authority. (To me, it's obvious in everyday life, but these experiments are well-known psychological reference points that you'll be able to easily find information on.)
There are legitimate reasons for paranoia. You're naive if you don't realize that.

Did the Trojan War start because of conspiracy theories or did it start because Helen wanted to sleep around?
