I have to. Laying in a dark room trying to fall asleep will just keep my brain running at 10000mph. Between sleeping meds and watching shows I've seen a million times it help to close all those doors down that long hallway to sleep.

This physically relaxed me.

Forgot to mention the fat dab before bed

It's crazy how many people have shitty sleep habits then complain they can't sleep. The ideal environment is dark and cool with some sort of ambient sound whether it's a fan, sound machine, etc. I even travel with a blackout curtain and sound machine.

I nap with the TV on in afternoon, but no I would never sleep in early AM with TV on. Only lunatics do.

I usually set a timer and fall asleep. Sometimes if I can't turn my brain off I have to put on something with David Attenborough narrating.

Phones set to "SLEEP MODE" and plugged by 9pm every night, no tv in the bedroom. Lights off, 20-30 minutes of reading with just a small flashlight and the sound machine going.
For naps I'll put on headphones with a meditation or some pink noise or something.

I go to bed an hour or so before my wife because I get up a lot earlier. She tells me 9 times out of 10, if she goes into our bedroom 10 minutes later for something, I'm already asleep

Took a while, but my wife finally got me acclimated to sleeping with the TV on. Took a while.

That code for listening to porn?

I may fall asleep, but likely won't stay a sleep. The light and/or noise will wake me up for sure.
Dark, cool, and maybe white noise for me.

Usually put a History documentary with a nice soothing British voice on.
Or a nature documentary. David Attenborough is king. Blue Planet and Planet Earth are incredible
I think I've seen the same whale carcass devoured 50 times.
That or a black screen with storm noises or brown noises

I hate nothing worse than waking up with the TV still on.

Bedroom is for two things and TV ain’t one of them. No TV in the bedroom.

Never. Some sudden change in volume will invariably occur and it will wake me up and piss me off.
