not really with cost, but many times we split as after an appetizer and maybe soup/salad its the meal is too much many times.

She usually chews the food and then spits it into my mouth so we are both splitting the nutritional value of each bite.

I like to do it because of apps / salads, and portions. But, I often feel like a cheap bastard doing it. I wish it was more normalized.

Never split, but sometimes she buys, especially if she's ordering takeout. I pay for 90% of sitdown restaurant meals.

That's why we sit on the same side in a booth. One plate, 2 forks and we take turns feeding each other bites.

No, but I'll split with my son sometimes. Frick paying $10 for a kids meal that my 5 year old will eat 1/4 of.

Only fajitas. We split a plate last week and still had leftovers. I think it was $30 for steak and shrimp, so $15 a person isn’t too bad these days.

no she gets what she wants, i get what I want, we share an appetizer and I eat all the leftovers

I initially read this like you were asking if we split the ticket.

Not often but if it’s a new place and there are two things we both want to try we will share them each. Not about cost, just not ordering two entrees each.

Depends what the meal is, but not really for cost. If I'm at a pizza place, we'll probably share a pizza because neither of us can eat a whole pizza alone. Most other restaurants, we'll order separate entrees and simply take home the extras.

At home, when cooking something like steaks, I'd rather the taste of a thick steak so we usually end up splitting a nice thick ribeye or similar because we aren't fat enough to eat 30oz of beef at a single sitting.

So, the cost issue really isn't the reason, but yes we do sometimes split a meal.

No. I wouldn't do that to the waiter. I usually only eat half of an entree though and eat the rest later. That's how I help with the cost.

Depends on where we’re going and it’s usually not for cost. Portions are just insane at some places.

We’ll either split the plates or take home leftovers for lunch/dinner the next day.

Yes, but only when we know the serving is simply too much for one person....or two people.
