How is it an international freight artery when the road doesn't even leave the state?
You gotta go old school back to the West Florida Republic. I-12's route went from border to border.

Its not even close to BR traffic. I10 goes to 1 lane in BR and backs up to the basin that alone trumps anything.

Still getting paid. Development on the Northshore is running amuck. All those white flight refugees from Nola think they're getting a suburban dream with their cookie cutter McMansions until they're sitting on their roof watching the water come up.

21 is actually much improved since the construction but it's still a cluster
I live near the hospital, so I'm frequently on 21 in that area. It still gets very congested where the road narrows north of the hospital, but it's a breezee between the hospital and 12.
Traffic was crawling on 12 this afternoon in both directions, but it wasn't backed up onto the ramps from 21. I don't know what the problem is there. The 21 to 190 widening project on 12 is slated to begin in Feb., 2020. I have no idea how long it's scheduled to take, but it's going to be a Mongolian clusterfrick of epic proportions when they start tearing up the Tchefuncte Bridge.

I'm back home (Covington) for the holidays and was ready to make this very topic.
And it's not just the interstate- hwy 21, 190, etc. Even local traffic is unbearable.
I would never move my family back to this mess.

I was making this exact thread just as a few others bumped it.

Everyone shits on BR traffic but Covington/Mandeville is just as bad
But we live on the Northshore as opposed to BR, so..... worth it.

190 is under construction so thats part of it.
If I run for parish president I promose to build wider bridges over all the rivers.
Will y'all vote for me? Thats all in doing and then I'm out. Every bridge in St tammany is undersized.

Are you the actual politician on here that is running? Or you just joking because someone on here is running in the up coming election.
If it is you and you win please do the exact opposite of Brister. That bitch put ruining this parish in overdrive.

Add Lake Charles to that list. Horrible traffic and they have a "magic loop"!

There is no planning. The geography of Covington/Mandeville cannot support the sprawl. The 2 eastbound onramps at Pinnacle Parkway and Hwy 21 need to be one. Shitty and foolish planning. I guess some good ol baw got paid.
Good ol baw deals in St Tammany?
Nah fam, no way. They are honest, hardworking politicians. They would never steal tax dollars to benefit themselves.

Im just joking, I just joke that building bridges will be my only platform and everything can just wait.
Once my bridges are done Id be out and let a smart person do all the other stuff.

You’re telling me that 10.5% sales tax isn’t getting us any new roads??

It took me 2.5 hrs to get to BR from Slidell after Thanksgiving. No major accidents or anything. I'm taking I-55 from now on.
yep, your driving slower, and the road isnt as smooth, but get there in half the time
Posted on 12/22/18 at 11:04 pm to keakar
How would you get from BR to Slidell on I-55?

Okay, the MSR bridge is stupid asf and the design is extremely flawed, but this is exaggerating a lot. It backs up to La 415 and to the treeline not the basin. That’s like 18 Miles

Lies
Stay off 12, BR is no comparison. Dont try to downplay that fricking parking lot of a city

No doubt. My two cents.
1.frick that westbound 22 heading to the Tchefuncta/Madisonville.
2.frick that 190/I-12 cluster frick at 5 pm
