What's the best garage size for a full size vehicle, a side by side, and just random garage shite (extra fridge, bikes, storage racks against the wall, etc)? I want enough room to be able to easily walk around the entire vehicle with the doors open. Also what size doors would you go with?

Bigger.

I just built my house with a 35x25 garage for 3 vehicles. Oversize garage doors. Plenty deep enough, but with my truck in one bay, I have about 4 foot clearance to the wall, and an 18" shelving, so I still have to turn sideways to get past it.

I wish I had gone 2 feet deeper.

Take whatever you think is a "full sized" vehicle and add 6 feet to the length and add six feet to the width then add 12 more feet in width for the rest of the crap.

Mine is 26x40 wide with a bump out for my coolers and tool box that’s probably another 10x3.

I would go 30x40 next time.

24 wide x 26 deep inside dimensions for an F250 and a Yukon X + a 14x25 3rd bay for your side-by-side, zero turn and other crap.

Minimum 3 car garage to house 2 vehicles.

Also, consider a detached garage in the back for mower, side by side, etc. if space is an issue for the garage on the house.

I went with a 36 wide by 26 deep. Should've gone 30 deep. I compensated by adding a detached shop later on. That 3rd bay fills up quick.

Standard size garage doors are 9 ft wide for a single and 16 ft wide is most common for a double.

40' x 40'

ETA, An F250 is 22' long, 6' in the front and back is another 12' so thats 34' deep. Its also 6'6 wide, if you want 6' around that its 18'-6" wide.

I have a 3 car garage that's probably 250 sq ft - it's been perfect for me for over 20 years. Fits my Tundra, an Explorer, and a motorcycle and a Wave Runner just fine - still have room for a lounge area and a workbench.

The bigger the better. We plans we found on the net and between us and draftsman tweaked things to oyr liking. He suggested we widen garage compared to what was already drawn. We did, still not big enough.

Your garage can never be big enough, you’ll always think of something else you want in there, go as big as possible
