I keep several in my ride, but quit carrying one years ago. I never really used it.

It’s not a,ways a matter of need. There are often times having one makes routine things more convenient. My current choice of knife.

You got me. I just replayed my entire 57 years in my head, and it was actually six times.

Honestly, it depends on what kind of pants I’m wearing. Jeans, 5-pocket slacks, or button-front shorts where I can clip it to a pocket…i almost always carry one.

Dress pants or gym shorts? Almost never. I don’t like adding clutter with my keys/cell phone already in my pockets

Kershaw 8700. It’s the perfect size for a daily carry. If your boys are like me they will buy a new one when they see it in the store even though they don’t need it.

I had a Kershaw like that but one of my daughters begged me to give it to her so I did and bought a Benchmade Mini Griptilian. I've been carrying it for 5-6 years now

I 100% get it. Personally, it’s not worth the trade off for me to further clutter my pockets (phone, keys, reading glasses) with something that I would hardly ever use. More power to you if you do carry one.

I had another Kershaw around that size that I liked but it was a bit heavy. Forgot it in my backpack and it got confiscated at the airport last month. The European security officer wasn’t very amused.

(Almost) always on me. Easier to access and I don’t forget it’s slipped into pocket like I did my knifes. Also, easier to replace.

Do they have a belt sharpener yet? Those things make it so easy to keep a sharp blade.
