OpenSourceIntel on X (timeline video of Kahn Yunis damage)

This is an incredible aerial of the damage (as of 2/29) to the old Hamas central operations city of Khan Yunis and shows that Israel is making sure it won't be back.

Once Israel finishes taking out the last 15% of the remaining buildings this is what Rafah will look like unless they return the hostages.

So, the US decides to help out the Palestinians with an airdrop of aid/relief. The crates get dropped and the aid makes it to the ground.

Then.....Hamas said that some of the aid crates fell on a few Palestinians and killed them, five total.

It turned out, not surprisingly, that was a lie. No one was killed. Even if they were I would wager that those killed had a couple bullet holes in them. Ya know......cause those crates are damn good at laying down cover fire.

This is what you call an international relations pretzel. Or, just a good, old fashioned clusterfrick.

Someone texted this story to me with a “I’m from the government and I’m here to help” caption.

I chuckled.

Just wait till we spend 2 months, 1000 troops, and $100m to build a giant floating pier so that we can start offloading billions in aid to Gaza.

Has this new thread replaced the blood thirst Russia/Ukraine thread for moderate OTers? Who are they pulling for in this one and how many hundreds of billions should we send? I'll hang up and listen.

I think this is the begging of the end for Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Iranian regime. Once Israel goes in and clears Rafah which should be less than 3 weeks.

Israel assassinated Mohammad Reza Zahedi, Iranian IRGC’s Syria-Lebanon chief. Zahedi is the replacement for Suleimani (who Trump took out) and he is by far the most important person in organizing Hezbollah and associated Shi'ite militias in the region. This is a blow to Iran since it is hard to find yet another replacement with the skills and contacts Zehadi had. This is especially true since his deputy was also killed. In addition, nine other senior officials were killed.

The Iranian inner circle is now totally compromised. The amount of intelligence needed to carry this out was tremendous. All of Zahedi's movements are planned out carefully and hidden from view. From all accounts he was a paranoid man who did all he could to feret out informers.

Other recent assassinations make this a crisis for Iran. Senior IRGC officer Brig. Gen. Razi Mousavi was killed and other highly important officials in the network arming Hezbollah have been killed in the interim.

This means the Iranian network is now disorganized and paranoid, lowering their ability to threaten Israel. It also shows Iran that they will pay a price for their destabilizing regional policy.

LINK

According to the Jtimes link, Israel is ending its active invasion and occupation of southern Gaza.

Beginning of the end for Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran appears to be off for the time being.

I hope this is the beginning of the end of the war. The US experience after 9/11 largely proves you can’t exterminate extreme ideology with bombs and occupations.

Netanyahu has weakened Israel by falling asleep on October 6 and losing crucial support for Israel as a result of its post October 7 conduct. Hopefully he is gone soon. His time and utility for Israel has come and gone.

Because the hostages aren't alive. Or they don't know where they are. Or the different groups that have them are fighting amongst themselves.

It's almost like the place is run by guys who were the product of 16 generations of cousin marriage or something.

Lebanon is about to explode into a full blown civil war on Friday. Hezbollah kidnapped & assassinated the Christian community's leader and dropped off his body in Syria. Christians are now going neighborhood to neighborhood warning that all Syrian refugees and all Syrians living in Lebanon that they have until Friday to leave the country.

The West has been made to wait for almost two weeks to see how Iran reacts to the missile strike that eliminated several top brass commanders.

Tehran's embassy in Syrian capital Damascus was destroyed in a suspected Israeli strike on April 1.

Despite Benjamin Netanyahu and his team saying they had no involvement in the targeted attack, Iran is certain the strike came from them.

Iranian leader Ebrahim Rasi said the deadly strike on Iran's consulate building in Syria "will not go unanswered".

As he immediately pointed the finger of blame at Israel, labelling the hit a "cowardly crime".
