Imo the the gateway is the drug dealer not the drug. So if the first drug most teens try is Marijuana, perhaps legalizing it would limit that introduction to the black market. Idk just kinda thinking out loud.

Yes!!!! This is exactly it

I wish making marijuana legal, it would eliminate black market - but as seen In California and Colorado - it does not - with drug prices so cheap down here (I knew two people from Boston that were amazed at how cheap weed and meth were) I don’t think the drug pushers would just turn legal

So there is still a strong black market for teens to get marijuana in the states where it is legal? If so then perhaps harsher penalties for illegal distribution. I would be fine with that frankly. I think legal adults should be able to indulge but frick drug dealers selling to kids.

Yep - I have some cousins in CO - they’ve always smoked pot - their youngest child is big into it and hallucinogenics - well he buys crap illegally bc he’s not of age and one night it almost killed him - grant it was the crazy crap not the weed

Which makes no sense bc his parents are cool with the marijuana - but he’s the type of kid that has to go one more step to push

So sometimes I think legalize all the shite so it’s safe but then there’s still illegal stuff and dumbasses (like with alcohol too)

You can’t, but you can here. The majority of the reefer madness push in the 40’s and 50’s was racially based.

Those black jazz musicians are coming to get your white daughters high to sleep with them.

And the earliest prohibition laws in the early 1900’s were because of Mexican migrant day laborers bringing it over and smoking it.

Nobody is talking about the true gateway drug. The real gateway drug is friends. Without friends, nobody would introduce you to drugs. Without friends, you wouldn’t leave your house, thus, trying alcohol and/or drugs. Without friends, you would live a clean life.

I once smoked the marijuana.

I curled into the fetal position in the shower and cried.

Should be the death penalty for selling that awful devil drug

Is this a joke? The people I knew who were hooked on meth, coke and/or heroin all did weed first. The crazy woman I knew who was hooked on oxy (but also sold weed - in her very very nice neighborhood) also smoked weed like no one’s business - I never asked what she did first bc I always made myself ‘busy’ when she had parties
