This is the tip of the iceberg. So many standards of grammar, usage, and punctuation seem to be dying. Most are being replaced by things that exist because of pure laziness. I can barely interpret many of the things that I see these idiots put on social media now.

My wife can't pronounce crayon. It always comes out like crown, so she instead calls them colors.

My aunt can’t say ruin or ruined. Pronounces it as Rurrn or Rurrn’d

She has 3 college degrees. Drives me nuts

This shite makes me want to kick a baby.

It's a generational thing that I think stems from the popularity of hip hop / thug culcha.

Sure she can. It’s likely just part of the dialect that she heard growing up and it’s become unconsciously habitual. My grandmother pronounced it that way, and she sounded ridiculous outside her peer group.

I knew a girl from New Orleans who pronounced house weird. Maybe that was normal for New Orleans people though.

This is something younger people have learned, and unfortunately all of my video conference computer training at work is administered by young people. Since they are showing us how to do certain things on our computer, "buh-un" comes up a hundred times. It's pretty annoying.

It has a formal term- "t glottalization". It's spreading. There are many articles out there on the subject.
