I’m humbly asking for prayers for my 17 month old daughter. We found out on Friday that she has been diagnosed with AML, a form of leukemia. It’s a diagnosis that no parent ever wants their child to receive. We go to discuss treatment options on Tuesday, but until then, we are left wondering about the unknown, which is frightening enough. I can’t imagine what the future holds for her, but I am praying that she responds quickly from the treatment. I ask that you help me by praying for her. Thank you in advance.

Prayers definitely. What's the prognosis? Seriously, frick cancer in the arse; I've seen far too many children die of it. I had Leukemia twice as a child. All treatments were inpatient, which meant several months in the hospital both times, and I won't lie, it sucked.

But the worse part of it was knowing that other children didn't survive, and hearing the parents shrieking in agony when their child passes. For me, I would take cancer again, and another eight-month hospital stay if it meant the complete eradication of cancer. If my child had cancer it would be tougher to deal with as a parent, then when I went through it myself, IMO.

Not sure how far along you are in your treatment decisions, but I would highly recommend pushing hard to get into St. Jude in Memphis. Many prayers have been answered from those miracle workers!

Ronald McDonald House is great and can give you room and board for free, so don't stress about the money on that front.

The outpouring of support from our family, friends, and neighbors has been overwhelming. We know God has his plan, and we must follow the path that He has laid out for us. We just ask for continued prayers for little Harper. Thank you so much, in advance.

That six months will be rough. Lean on those around you and don't be afraid to accept their help. You two being strong as parents will help your daughter, so try to take care of yourselves as much as you can through this. Let those you trust and love help when you need it. Know that that there is a plan and remember it. I'm still praying for your daughter and you and all involved with her care.

Update: We were told by her oncologist that she will need 6 months of inpatient treatment. It was quite the shock to us that our 17 month old will spend the next 6 months in the hospital for chemo, but we will do whatever is necessary to get her well.

If you happen to have made it to St Jude in Memphis, let us know if you need anything while your girl is in treatment

It was quite the shock to us that our 17 month old will spend the next 6 months in the hospital for chemo, but we will do whatever is necessary to get her well. She started her chemo one week ago today, and we are now at the wait and watch stage, where her blood counts will expectedly plummet, which will put her at a great risk of infection. Her counts should hit rock bottom at about the 10-14 day mark. After that, her counts should begin to recover over the 14 days following that. When her numbers are acceptably high enough, she’ll begin another treatment. She’s in very high spirits so far, and you wouldn’t know just how sick she is by looking at her, but we’ve been told the worst is yet to come. The outpouring of support from our family, friends, and neighbors has been overwhelming. We know God has his plan, and we must follow the path that He has laid out for us. We just ask for continued prayers for little Harper. Thank you so much, in advance.

Jesus, I can't imagine the roller coaster of emotions that entails.

Still thinking about and praying for you guys. Good luck to you and yours, man. Definitely keep us posted.

Hey brother, I am praying for God's absolute healing of this beautiful girl. I pray too that you and her mom can find His love through all of this. So glad to hear that you have had an outpouring of love and support. Stay strong.
