My son plays in soccer tournaments every weekend, and they just get medals for first or second. It started s year ago and we bought a shirt at the first one, now he doesn't even want that much. They won the tournament today and he got a gold...add it to the closet door handle and back to practice on Monday. I'm hoping this 6 days a week soccer doesn't last long.

When I was coaching youth football, we lost the championship game one year and the league wanted to give our kids trophies. Nearly every single dad passed on them or told their son to put the trophy down.

Does it devalue your Super Bowl ring?

My cousins tiny private school won back to back 8 man football national titles in like 90-91 and they got championship rings.

This is nothing new.
