The only way I spend $80K on a truck is if I KNOW I am gonna get 15 years and 300k miles out of it.
I don't think I can confidently say that with a Ford product.

With nothing down, that’s about $1400 month on a five year note. There just aren’t many people who can afford that while being financially responsible.
I own a C300 and the note is $700/month is already sickening. I would love to drive an AMG but they are going to push $1000/month and I can’t stomach it.
Ya, maybe I'm not normal, but I currently have two cars and I pay less than $700.
The most I've spent on a vehicle is 22k. I physically get ill when buying a car
And the only reason I have 2 notes is my car got totaled when someone crashed into me, and my wife's car that her dad bought 12 years ago finally went kaput. I'm hoping these cars last to when cars are driverless and a subscription service or whatever.

I had always wanted a nice car when I could afford it...if things ever get tight then it’s the first thing to go. I have equity in it now so at least I wouldn’t be underwater.

I recently purchased a 2017 f150 super crew fx4 with the 3.5L turbo v6 for sub 35k.
No thanks to an 80k truck.

That's fair enough and you're doing well. This other stuff going on, I'm amazed.
And you only have to look at general income statistics to know how messed up it really is.

You won't catch me paying $39k for a truck either. Guess I'm just cheap

Median household income in the US was $59,039 in 2016. Let that sink in.

It’s because of the tax breaks

Can't wait for some baw to buy that then bitch when the price of oil goes down and he claims "I can't support my family!!!"

And people bitch about housing cost, an appreciating asset.

If I have enough to blow $80k on a truck then the price really wasn't that big of a deterrent anyway.

why do people like spending so much on vehicles? Put the extra money towards an IRA or save for a bigger home or to buy some rental properties or a vacation home.
Why do other people worry about what kind of vehicle or cost of vehicle that other people buy?
I know a lot of people with expensive trucks that actually work the truck and can actually afford the truck. I've had two King Ranch 350 and I worked the shite out of them and wore them damn near out but they were very comfortable to drive and I enjoy that.

Yeah you are the one that they prey on. Working on how much can you afford for a note.

They're not the ones strapping bombs to their chests and wading into crowds (or plowing through them with trucks).
Those bastards are just financing them.
