Eating out will become a luxury like owning a home.

It's almost there now.

Fast food isn't a career, it's an entry level / supplemental income.

Trying to make living wage income out of it is going to destroy their customer base and lead to store closures.

You ever sit back and watch those cooks…..they possesses a skill set that isn’t terribly common and I would argue they are worth every penny of $25 an hour.

They should get a job that pays more.

What they are doing now is saying I won’t work because Waffle House doesn’t pay enough.

That's more than a nursing student right out of college. Hell that's more than most nursing jobs period in Birmingham.

So scattering, smothering, and covering is more important than nursing?

are there random kitchens on the side the road for me to cook in while traveling?

gonna have to add several hours to my planned drive time though because I was really banking on just grabbing a quick bite and continuing along.

And if they can’t?

They’ll have to sit there and deal with absolute bullshite for hours on the day that barely pays their electric bill?

I love me some waffle house, but exactly what skill set would that be?

damn near every person I know from the south can whip up some eggs, bacon and grits on a flat top.

More education or occupational training. Sitting around waiting for collective bargaining raises is not how you succeed in life if you lack skill and education.

Looking at pay rates I’d say they are underpaid. But 25 is too high, most make between 10-15/hr

I’d say 15-20 range is reasonable

I would be fine with none. I cook 90% of my own food.

Even when traveling I tend to do this.

Education and occupational training cost money. And if you don’t have that training or education, then what? Where do you go to work to pay for that training?

Look, I get what you’re saying, but sometimes it’s not as easy for EVERYBODY to just lace up their boots and go to work. There are hurdles. There are obstacles. There’s simple life training that people just didn’t have when they were kids….they don’t even know where to start to look for this training. Some of them don’t even know it exists…. All they’ve ever known was how to be a low life or a bottom dweller because that’s what they were trained to do as a child.
