I have never eaten at a Waffle House. Now Denny’s is a different story…

I am not typically behind striking workers….but I can support this demand.

From all the videos I've seen, Waffle House staff seem more than capable of taking care of themselves.

You should pay more for dinner AND a show. It’s never dull even if you just watch the cook.

I went there at 2 pm on a Sunday a few weeks ago. There were like 3 tables, I sat at the counter, the waitress handed me my drink and waffle and my tab was like 7 bucks. I left 2 dollar bills but I was thinking the workers at Burger King usually do more work than that.

If my maid gets paid $50/hr today and takes a pay cut to $25/hr….I just saved $25/hr on my house cleaning service…..

requesting $25 per hour

Make it $50 per hour. Basic economics is lost on a lot of people under 40. Company’s are in business to make money, people work for the said companies to be able to pay bills, and not live off the government/tax payer money. Companies trying to make money aren’t going to lose money because it’s employees want a raise. Give the employees a raise and then up the prices for consumers. Going from $15 per hour to $25 per hour isn’t going to mean anything when said companies raise prices to ensure they make money.

Nope. Ownership intends the restaurant to be open just short of Armageddon hitting.

OK, this one I can justify. The quality of clientele at most of these deserves security when possible.

I could be wrong, but I think a lot of people who own a waffle house are the head chef and you are pretty much married to it as a franchise owner. Maybe I am thinking of something else, but the reason I bring this up, do employees get paid the same at every waffle house? And is how much they pay determined by the franchise owners?

The vast majority of Waffle Houses are safe throughout the day and empty during the graveyard shift.

They're mostly corporate owned. They haven’t franchised in a while and have been buying back as many as possible for a while now.

My most recent experience at the one in Gulfport makes me support all of this. No way is it worth it for them.

what good or service hasn’t risen in cost by artificially raising the cost of labor when compared to the rest of the labor market?

and no, we don’t “need” restaurants. and no, no one is holding a gun to anyones head, so frick off with your slavery comparison.
