I'd happily mail them a check each year if I didn't have to go sit in a long arse line at Benny's.

Long line or not, they are taking my time away from me. I'd rather they just add it to the registration fee.

And, while I won't name the place I go, they mostly seem to inspect to see if they can remove the old sticker TBH

I hope not. We didn’t have inspection stickers in South Carolina and it sucked paying that high arse vehicle tax each year(it went down the older the car got).

I’d rather pay $10 a year/$20 every 2 years if they pick up the vehicle tax instead of the sticker.

This should not even factor into whether or not inspection stickers are the law.

So, obviously I’m sure it is.

I saw there is a bill right behind it to increase fees and require a front plate. So, maybe opposers fear it will finally pass. If it fails, everyone should refuse to renew their tax next time it renews. What can they do?

Not a chance.

It's just a tax on something you owned that you already paid taxes on and bought with money that'd already been taxed as well.

Give it up and implement a personal property tax paid upon annual registration. Punish the idiots overpaying for shot they don’t need.

How about stop overtaxing us and cut the unncessary fat from the budget?

I’d say the police union won’t want to give up that revenue either

Nah they’ll just take that $20 and roll it into your vehicle registration. The police still get their cut

So you just want the government to continue to fleece its citizens, no matter the reason?

Whoa...your stations are all state owned?

Here, any Joe Blow can start up an emissions station by obtaining a license. Emission check shops are freaking everywhere and lines are unheard of.

Ah, yes, I remember paying $190 in 2001 on a seven year old truck. It sure went down.

They don’t check that

What do you think they’re doing when they plug into your vehicle’s computer?

If you’ve cleared a fault, you have to get like 40 something miles on it after clearance without it faulting again before you can pass inspection.

And they are certainly cracking down on windshield cracks the last few years. Anything greater than 6 inches can’t pass regardless of location on windshield.
