Up by 9:30, drink coffee and read the paper. Walk downstairs and start working. Depending on how busy I am I will work a solid 4 hours or sometimes 8-10 hours.

For me, I usually leave at 5:30 AM, stop by the office at 6:00, work on planning the day, updating expense report, printing out estimates, etc. leave the office around 7:00 spend the rest of the day in meetings at job sites, offices, shops, quarries, landfills, and mines. Lunch is usually a business lunch with a customer. Usually get home around 5-6 that evening. Spend the next hour or two doing what I call “laptop work” before about 7-8 I call it quits for the day.

Your hours are too damn long. Find another job before work related stress ends up killing you.

6:15 - 7:15 - wake up, shower, brush teeth, breakfast while wife gets the child ready

7:15 - 8:00 - Wrangle child, finish getting him ready, get him to daycare, stop for a coffee to go, get back home

8:00 - 8:45 - Walk, listen to audiobooks or podcasts. Just a lap around the neighborhood.

8:45 - 11:30 - Work

11:30 - 1:30 - Gym + lunch time

1:30 - 4:30 - work

4:30 - 7:30 - wife + child come home, play, dinner, bath+ bedtime for kid

7:30 - 8:00 - Chores

8 - 9:30 - Free time

9:30 - 10:00 - read a book

10:00 - go to sleep

Work time subject to change for meetings and such.

It's not a hard, fast schedule but it works out like this the vast majority of days.

Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, I use the side door - that way Lumbergh can't see me. After that I sorta space out for an hour, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too, I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.

Roll over and look at phone at 6, if it has missed calls I know my day is gonna suck for the rest of it. If nothing, I pray it stays quiet until I get going around 8. After that it is just managing the freaking dragons until it is late enough no one calls anymore...until 6 the next morning. wash rinse repeat. My day involves a series of logistic nightmares requiring complete employee buy in to get it to work. I spend a lot of time praying everyone comes in to work every morning, no one quits, all trucks are running and nothing weird happens..then I spend a few minutes trying to find an extra employee cause I know something is going to shite with one of em on a daily basis
I think we may have the same job. In between things going to shite and putting out fires I post on the OT.
