I'm not trying to cause harm. Words cannot cause harm. I'm not going to go out of my way cause friction with a trans by intentional calling them by their proper pronoun. In fact, I will mostly likely go the other way if/when I encounter one to limit contact. I'm just not going to participate.

I will not be compelled to use speech of any kind. I especially will not use they/them or xe/xem or any of the other made up words.

I didn't say harm, I said friction. And I didn't accuse you of anything. I was just leaving open the possibility that sometimes we want to frick with someone or some idea and that's ok. But if I come across a trans gate check person or cashier, I'll probably just use what I assume are their preferred pronouns and go on about my day. I'm not winning anything in that moment.

I have taught English for 3 decades. I understand pronouns quite well. It frosts my gerbils when people use they or them to refer to a single person. They or them is only correct if the person has a mouse in a pocket or is possessed by multiple demons. The latter seems most likely.

I am with you. It is weird. They are a man and woman trapped in single body so that is possible why they use they. But if you have an outwardly female appearance your pronoun should be SHE, and if you have an outwardly male appearance your pronoun should be HE. Now if you dress like a man in a full blazer and tie with still a full set of titties, do not feel bad what ever pronoun I use. I am just as confused as you.

The reason I have a problem with it is because it normalized “hey you may be a boy you may be a girl, who knows?” But, for all 100,000 years of human history, that has never been a question. Gender dysphoria exists, legitimate trans people have always existed, but it affects something like 1 in every 3000 people. And it’s certainly not a normal, “brave” thing.

But now, we have obvious women, who look, talk and act like women, and there would never be a question in your mind what pronouns they are, but they put “she/her” in their profiles to be “inclusive” of a very, very, very tiny portion of the population that is exponentially growing because it’s a cool thing to do, and is a cheap, easy way to get yourself added to the victim pyramid.

And sorry for the double post but I wanted to say on a separate subject:

I was on a first date with a girl from Bumble. Within a few minutes I knew it wasn’t going to work. She was about 50 pounds heavier than her pictures. So I’m looking at my watch, thinking, alright, 45 minutes then bounce.

Well, she brings up the state of our country and how it’s scary, and competition with China. I said, “yeah, well, that’s what you get when they’re teaching their kids about science and math, and we’re worried about kids using the right pronouns.” I want to emphasize this: I would not have had this conversation if I wanted to get laid. I literally didn’t care and wanted to leave. She looked disappointed and said, “oh god, what do you have against pronouns?” I told her what I said in my previous post, that they were unnecessary and virtue signaling basically. Then this exchange happened.

Her: “Alright then, if it’s so obvious, what are MY pronouns?”
Me: “Are you serious? You’re a she/her.”
Her: “I’m actually a she/them.”
Me: “What? Why the distinction? Why not they/them or she/her?”
Her: “I could tell you, but I’m not interested in continuing this date.”
Me: “Cool, neither am I, but tell me the difference.”
Her: “Yeah, I don’t think you’re going to be receptive.” (Gets up to leave)
Me: “Well, that’s not very tolerant of you, is it?”

She leaves. I finish my beer. I think it’s kind of funny. Out of curiosity I tracked her down on instagram (she had a weird spelled name so it was easy). Her pronouns were she/her. Not she/them like she said.

It’s a total fricking fad and it’s so unnecessary, and to be honest I have no idea how so many people are so dumb that they can’t see through it.

But what if you can tell there’s most likely an otherwise pretty good looking chick cloaked in a suit and bow tie, wingtip shoes, maybe a cane with a fist on top- and you can also tell there are some nice tits under there. Your feral instincts could cause you to do or say something inappropriate, possibly cat call at it. But hell she/he/they/them/it might be able to throw hands like a grown arse man and beat your arse in front of your friends. What should I do? This whole thing’s got me running every which way but loose.

Crossdressers existed. Transvestites .

Drag was for humor (or necessity in theater since they didn't allow women)

And it was hilarious. Every single all male troupe did drag bits to great success.

Never did anyone thing putting a man in a dress and some makeup turned them into women.

It's absurd. And not the funny sort

In my regular course of business, if I get an email from a potential new customer who has pronouns in their signature, I refuse to do business with them. That's it, period, no questions asked.

I mean why would I have to know that someone named John or Mary wants to be called he or she, especially if I didn't ask?

Biggest red flag you can ask for.

It is idiotic and used by people who have mental illness or for people to virtue signal.

I do not - however I do have a problem with people that fly off the handle like fricking lunatics when you do not use the one they want, or they are overly in your face about it.

your religion and sexuality is your own - I accept and support you in that - but the minute you force it on me, or get in my face about it - -you have lost my support.

same thing with veganism - I am happy that you want to have that lifestyle, but do you and leave me out of it.

We got a list of demands from HR at my previous job because one dude decided he felt feminine. It didnt last long.

I just use whatever name they want me to use, screw their pronouns.
