The 1903 doesn't have any of the safety mechanisms that the glock mechanism has, it's a completely different animal.

That has nothing to do with it at all. BTW, those are not safety mechanisms. They are things in place to prevent the gun from being found unreasonably dangerous in a court case. Nothing more.

Good looking rig, what other 1911's you have? Don't you have a few?

A trio of Browns, a couple of Wilsons, a Baer, 2 Nighthawks, the above pictured Colt, and this Volkmann.

I owned a Hi-Cap Llama back in the 90s, the thing rattled like hell, but it ate everything and was pretty damn accurate. Which Colt do you have? I've been looking for a series 70.

It is pretty damn accurate

The colt that I have was issued to my grandpa in WWII. It's a marine issue M1911

It's at my parents house in my dads safe. I would rather my house burn down than that thing go missing. It means more to me than any of my possessions.

I took some pictures of the 1903 last night, this is it with the original holster.
My M1911 is in about the same condition, pretty worn and well used. The salt water in the pacific took their toll on them.
