I see they want to meet with the Parish President for a compromise on the same Sunday that there is a recall meeting. Is this politics at it's finest or are they sincere in wanting to work with the Parish President?

I’m not originally from the AP and know a few people who have moved here over the years since Katrina. Recently, the first time, we’ve started discussing local politics and about getting involved. Most of these people couldn’t have told you who there councilman was a few months ago

What’s this about? I haven’t heard about them wanting to compromise.

Orgeron, Casso and Lawler all need to go. All three are corrupt pieces of dog excrement and despise their constituents for wanting to limit development and improve the parish infrastructure. Guaranteed they are taking kick backs from the developers.

AP government is full of of back room deals and under the table payments. The entire council with the exception of 2-3 members is corrupt and on the take or paying back favors. I’m glad I will be leaving here in the next year. There is absolutely no excuse for what is happening here. It is so blatant and ballsy I’m shocked and I’ve been here all my life and that is saying something. AP could easily be the best place to raise a family in this state but greed and politics have ruined it over the last 10-15 years. I’ll be glad to be gone

How did so many crooks get elected in the same parish? Y’all using Dominion machines or what ?

Hearing about Lawler and the Oak Grove condos makes me sick.

AP isn’t unique. Local politics everywhere is very insular and full of back room deals.

Ascension has changed drastically in recent years. Ascension leadership has made a lot of money from the changes, but their old way of doing things isn’t meeting the needs of the parish.

No, for ignoring the cries of 90% or more of their constituents and supporting growth, growth, and more growth, while half the parish takes on floodwater from even moderate rainfall lately.
Voted against a 12 month moratorium on new development and subdivision, and a few days later voted to remove the parish president (who is against rapid development) from the head of the drainage board.

What’s the backstory on this and what triggered the recall?
