100,000 US deaths would be a 28.5% death rate of confirmed COVID cases, 200,000 would be a 57% death rate

There is no scenario in which this kills 28.5% or more of the people who contract it. The problem is that with the ease that this can be spread, even at 1%-2% that is a lot of people dying.

On Friday Birx said, "In no country to date have we seen an attack rate over one in a thousand."

Do the math - 1 per 1000 would equal 350,000 cases in the US.

We're essentially half way there already and adding 18k each day.

You do realize it's still spreading, the numbers are still growing right?

At one point no country saw an attack rate of one in ten thousand yet today we're seeing that.

Look at the confirmed cases that have reached a conclusion either they recovered or they died.

Fauci stepped in it with the 100000-200000 deaths remark. He put the entire credibility of the VP's Task Force on the line with the very doomsday modeling that Birx described as being over the top. Fauci backed the President and the Task Force into a corner. Birx had no choice but to " readjust " her numbers in an attempt to ward off speculation of internal bickering, which surely must be taking place. Would also wager the guidelines were readjusted as a hedge to Fauci's comments.

1% to 2% out of 330 Million? That's nothing. The cost of doing business.
