He said it.

I think he meant the deferment due to Covid.

Of the delayed payroll taxes from his executive order. He can’t not tax without passing congress but he can delay collection. Congress would have to agree to not collect the delayed payroll taxes.

He can just keep delaying turning them back on until they drag their asses back from vacation and start negotiating seriously.

Yeah wish he would elaborate on how SS and Medicare would be funded if the payroll tax cut is implemented.

All Trump can do is defer/postpone it. An actual tax cut has to pass Congress, and I see no way the Democratic House will pass it. (Unless Trump is counting on winning back the House, but that's a far shot.)

How sweet would that be if Republicans took the House, kept the Senate and Trump is re-elected and this dream becomes a reality?

Will still vote for him over Team Mao but this is kinda gimmicky.

His advisors that are selling this to him suck balls.

Truth is.....there is no Social Security.....just outlays out of the general fund. The name Social Security Trust Fund is a misnomer. As for Medicare democrats turned that into a slush fund to pay for social programs (i.e.welfare) for their voter base.

The democrats stole Social Security, or should I say they turned it into a Ponzi Scheme. How'd they do that? They just used the old bait-and-switch. Then they rolled Social Security receipts into the general fund. Just another revenue source to be spent as they wish.

As for Medicare, our pal Barack Obama gutted it to pay for Obamacare. I believe the original amount Pookie pulled out of Medicare was $ 494 billion dollars. I recall just before he left office the amount he siphoned out of Medicare had grown to a staggering 1 trillion dollars. Then he had the nerve to tell the elderly to take pain medicine.

Democrats are good at the ole bait-and-switch routine. Unfortunately voters keep voting them back in office.

Bottom line....at some point soon all of this is going to catch up with us, and the results will not be pretty.

Agree. There is no indication that doing away with payroll tax is even a vote winner at all, or popular with voters.

Donald Trump understands the only way to effectively Drain the Swamp is to shut-off the money. Washington is rotten to the core, as in corrupt beyond fixing. Your government has stolen and misappropriated Social Security and gutted Medicare. These social programs are basically just slush funds. For the life of me I can't understand why people are not outraged over this theft.

Northern Virgina was once a sleepy region of small towns. Now it's populated with high dollar lawyers and deep pocketed lobbyist (including some working for the Chicoms) All of them sucking on the government tit.

.....and remember this. Once they run low on money to pay S/S benefits, Medicare, and Welfare they'll confiscate your 401k's and IRA's. Those of you that have them.

Donald Trump is on to something with the elimination of Payroll Tax.

You cringe? Prove to me that I'm wrong?

MAGA!

If you think that makes no sense, wait until you read the EO that "extends the eviction moratorium" but doesn't actually extend the eviction moratorium.
