And I'm going to go ahead and call it now. At some point in the not distant future Mike Johnson will be president.
That guys nature has the ability to bring people together. He will get stuff done. He comes across as sincere and not like a car salesman like so many of the rest.
Call me crazy but I know I'm right

It sounds like as skilled a constitutional attorney Mr. Johnson is, he should have spearheaded Trump's court cases challenging the election and reinstating him as president.

I tell you I have heard many leaders speak and he is truly a leader. If he can stay the course, he will be quite formidable.

At many points in his speech, the democrats stood up to applaud. This guy can bridge the gap and make everyone happy doing it. He’s got the “Ronald Reagan” easygoing likability that you just can’t manufacture. You can’t fake that and it’s incredibly rare.
He’s got the “IT” factor that just doesn’t come along very often.

He has a great combination of principles and pragmatism.

He may be a great, conservative leader, but your naive as frick if you think the House is going to get anything done this term.

Last guy that gave great speeches was Obama, and we see how that turned out.
Show me a man’s words, and I’ll nod.
Show me a man’s actions, and I’ll follow.

The Dims stood up and applauded because they probably think Johnsons's laid back demeanor means he can be manipulated by the Dim side of the House.....let's hope and pray the Dim's are wrong.

The Dems and their ilk are the domestic enemies that he needs to be 100% against.

I would have no problem with that. Met him several times and he is always civil and attentive. Check out his freshman legislator "Commitment to Civility". He is a leader, a conservative, but more than willing to sit down with the most liberal and have a discussion.

One can turn the other cheek only so many times.
Let’s hope and pray that he has a little fighter and grit as well.

I think the Dems don’t even know why they do half the shite they do. But the one thing I feel comfortable believing that they were consciously aware of in this whole situation was that open and public division and discord amongst the Republicans is beneficial to them in the nearest elections. They will refer back to it, no doubt.
They’ll take the approach of “why waste your time and vote…..they can’t even get things done among themselves, much less for the rest of us.” I might be very wrong about that and I hope I am, but it’s quite concerning to me. But I’m just an old redneck, so there is that small chance I’m not right. The good news is that it can be overcome with some teamwork amongst all of us at just the right time.

Call me crazy but I don't think anyone that supports a national abortion ban is electable any time soon.

You may be right. I think people are quickly becoming deluded with the Democrats lie about progress and how they are doing a great job. I think I read where 65 or so percent of New Yorkers now think immigration is a disaster and lay the blame right on Biden. That poll came out today.
I think folks aren't voting "R" because a palatable candidate just hasn't existed. They WON'T vote Trump but they can't argue their lives are better now, they aren't.
Maybe this guy is the compromise at some point.
