Is the political divide between Dims/Groomers and America First/MAGA unbridgeable?

I've said on numerous occasions I believe the political divide between Dims and America First/MAGA may be too wide to overcome, after listening to this Bill Maher and Vivek Ramaswany discussion on Youtube, my opinion hasn't changed, my opinion is even stronger now. There are some on this forum who believe Maher has moderated a bit over the past few years but I will link the vid and you can decide. If Maher is a the current representation of an old school liberal then the political divide is the size of the fricking Grand Canyon.

The complete discussion is worth listening to and to be honest Vivek had a rather weak showing in my opinion . Vivek allows Maher to present his Gaslight Media version of the Trump/Russia collusion hoax by claiming the FBI had every right to target Papadopoulos as a Russian operative to prevent Russia from subverting the 2016 election. Maher gets Vivek to admit there was no evidence of election irregularities, shenanigans, rigging in 2020 and on and on.

The bottom line is clear, if Maher is the most rational sample of a current liberal there is no damn way this nation is ever coming together outside of a national calamity, maybe a global war or an invasion from extraterrestrials.


The good stuff starts at the 24:00 mark. Another good bite is at the 11:45 mark where Maher is asking Vivek if he knows who he's talking to? Maher goes on to tell Vivek that he's politically informed so don't try to pull excrement from your azz. Where it got immediately crazy was right after Maher told Vivek he was politically informed Vivek brings up the FBI harassing the parents going to school board meetings and said he did not know about that.
