When I was in school, we behaved ourselves most of the time because if our parents found out that we had behaved badly, life would have been really miserable.

Even after in the same article which clearly states that things became physical after the student laid hands on the teacher.

The article may be poorly written, but it’s likely the situation escalated from the student being asked to leave, ignoring the request, and then things getting more heated.

Doesn’t take Colombo to figure this one out.

Exactly. Heck I can remember the 1st grade whackson the back of the hand with a ruler from the teacher. They were allowed to control the classroom environments and the system worked.

If a student became unruly, he/she was sent to the principals office.
