Let's say he did and jury finds him guilty. I think he probably did. If I were in his shoes, I probably would have. Is a payment for a non-disclosure agreement illegal?

It is my understanding that falsifying documents is a misdemeanor, unless you falsify the documents in order to commit a crime. If so, what is the underlying crime that he used the falsified documents for? At this point, they are just prosecuting him for misdemeanors, correct?

Is it campaign finance violations and they are claiming that the payments to Stormy are unreported campaign violations? Is that the underlying crime? Or are they still trying to work the details of that out?

This whole think seems like felonious jaywalking.

The crime itself would be outside the Statute of Limitations.

It would have to be part of another crime and NY does NOT have control over campaign finance no matter what the AG and judges there think.

Stormy and Cohen had a fling, they cooked up a story to pin it as an affair on Trump with a way to got him.

Is the other crime supposedly falsifying business documents?

Even if it happened, paying someone to go away and stay quiet isn't a crime.

If it were a crime, the statute of limitations would've expired.

If it were a crime, why did Bill Clinton's $850k to settle the lawsuit from Gennifer Flowers get a pass?

Supposedly, except that Bragg is trying to tie that to the election.

Apparently EVERYTHING Cohen billed got thrown under “legal services” by the foundation’s accounting software. And it is reasonable to consider any activity by a lawyer on behalf of a client to be “legal services”.

After the video with that dude getting railed in the Senate building came out, and almost every politician (including most Republicans) declined to say anything about it, I've realized something. DC is a totally different kind of vile, depraved, ceilingless, and fricked up Sodom and Gomorrah. It's just gross on so many levels.

If Trump hid payments to horseface (and not a crime), it absolutely pales in comparison to what has been going on behind these walls for the last few generations.

That was why they let Clinton off after he perjured himself about Lewinski.

That's what they are charging him with, now. They are saying that he claimed that the payments to Stormy were a business expense.

There has to be another crime. I don't see how it could be campaign finance violations, because that is outside the jurisdiction of Alvin Bragg.

I'm kind of thinking that this is all going to be a big nothing burger and they are going to try to get him on the misdemeanors and parade around like convicting him of "falsifying documents" is a REALLY BIG DEAL, when it's not. Not unless he falsified the documents to cover up a crime. If it's just to avoid embarrassment of an affair, then half the rich guys in NYC are guilty as well...

None of it matters. Cohen just testified he wants Trump convicted and put in jail. He just admitted to having motive to help this happen. He just blew this case, and so much more cross to go.

Just a reminder —Until recently Congress had a secret slush fund it used to pay sexual harassment complaints made against members of Congress by staffers and third parties. The settlements were kept secret as were the complaints themselves.

After leaving the White House, Clinton was disbarred for lying to a Grand Jury.

Now you know why law enforcement is not pursuing the Jeffrey Epstein client list for crimes against children. That is a can of worms that a lot of very powerful people want to keep the lid screwed on tight...
