How is government going to shutdown if there is a stand off over a stand alone Ukraine funding bill?

That's one of the points of making it stand alone. No other motives to influence voting.

The Senate/Pres will say will only sign off on one omnibus spending bill.

This is why all of this stuff is negotiated at the front end, now.

Your inablity to understand how government works is the only moronic thing going on here. MAGA republicans want to blitz on every defensive play, and throw hail mary's every offensive play. With Thomas Dunson in coverage and Jarett Lee as QB.

The truth is he, and they, support them and are for these bills. The idea that they are being forced is a psy-op.
So, if true, how is getting rid of him going to help? Destroying something is easy--and lazy. And it won't get your agenda advanced. At all.

So how does he gets a spending bill without Ukraine spending through the DEM Senate and Biden?

Find out what the Dems need more than Ukraine spending. It's there.

Strange how every Republican Speaker can't just do what they say they are going to do.

LOL.

I guess when back when Johnson was making single-subject bills part of his core belief system, he forgot to ask Schumer and Biden's permission.

Their voters want it.

Only a small fraction of Reps have support to hold the federal government hostage, currently. The vast majority of voters and their reps don't want that.

That's why I said winning elections is what matters. Having popular support is important. The GOP hasn't been the majority party for a long time, nationally. The GOP hasn't won a majority in a Presidential vote in 20 years.

We are all forgetting the GOPe quitters that are threating to give the Dems majority.

Johnson is pinned in this situation.

You've got the wrong fella, fella. I'm barely a republican at this point, much less of the MAGA variety.

Yup. Even republican voters have already been hooked on that sweet, sweet government cheeze.

A bunch of Boomer MAGA types have, too. Any government shutdown should cut off SS/Medicare payments.

We will see how quickly they change their tune

This is completely irrelevant regarding congressional elections.

Republicans are fractured and doomed. They are setting up for a run in the minority for four cycles. It's all because the MAGA wing is cray, cray.

That's okay, you are already the butt of several around here. It's the way our government works. Everyone is broke unless the house appropriates the funds. The Speaker decides what bills come up for a vote and when.

I know fully well - too well - how government works.

How it works is most of the problem.

It explains why the hard line stances of some of the GOP aren't palatable to voters.

Political instincts?

He ran on repealing Obamacare his first term and was elected largely on that basis. He told his Republican led SENATE and HOUSE to put a bill on his desk and he would sign it. And what did the Republicans do with it? Like a monkey and a football.
