All this talk about the SS and former presidents reminded me of the movie "Guarding Tess" with Nicolas Cage. Pretty entertaining.

I would say in general, if we start allowing states to prosecute former presidents we are sliding down a very slippery slope.

Especially states where in the AG as a candidate campaigned on getting said former president.

Obama kills someone tomorrow in Houston. No prosecution?

If so, where do you draw the line between that case and the current Trump case? On what basis?

So murder = an agreed upon business arrangement that’s been shown legal in dozens of instances?

Murder = a situation where a law had to be retroactively applied to even get to the sham trial phase?

Is there a reason your Obama murder case couldn’t be a federal trial?

No, for purposes of this discussion, felony conviction beyond reasonable doubt = felony conviction beyond reasonable doubt.

The point of an ankle monitor is to know where a subject is. What’s the point when the SS is always by his side?

It's not crazy to think the ankle monitor thing can end up causing an incident which removes Trump and leaves the GOP scrambling

At that point it’s over. If Trump can’t win no non dem will ever win.

So what felony has been discussed in this thread? Contempt is not a felony.

I'll make it simple. I believe ANY criminal charges raised against a former president should be handled through the impeachment process.

The House has the hearing and the Senate is the jury. It should be unreasonably difficult to charge AND convict a former president. States should not be allowed to do it because we end up with the monkey show trial we have now.

I am opposed to that for either party.

The only reason this is truly an issue is because they are trying to corruptly prosecute him over made up dumb shite. If he had actually truly done something then every normal person would be fine with figuring out a way to hold him or anyone accountable.
