I try to do a little research on whatever I need to vote for, but it's very hard to find information almost these people. How do you decide who to vote for on Secretary of State or treasure? I really do hate voting just because it has Republican by it although I'm definitely not voting democrat, but I would least like to know why I'm voting for someone.

As silly as this thread may end up, for MANY people, this could be a useful read. I hope people don't trash your post but deliver useful methods.

if they are democrat or independant it means they are idiot liberals
those pretending to be republicans, all you can do is look at their voting history to see who owns them. then chose the least repulsive options

I keep telling my friends that primaries are almost, if not more important than the general. On primary election eve, they call me saying hey David, who should I vote for.? And Im like dude do some research.
Then we end up with Mitt Romney McCain.

Just call your parish registrar of voters and tell them you'll be out of town for the weeks of early voting and election day. They'll send you an absentee ballot in the mail.
Then go out on election day to the nearest corner store and give it to the driver of the van that has a load of passengers getting down with fresh crisp cash in hand and coming from inside the store with beer, liquor and cigarettes in hand back to the van.
The driver will take care of filling out your ballot so you don't have to spend the time online to research each candidate and make an educated decision on who to vote for.

Is your incumbents doing their job?
Is their primary opponent any better?
Is there a huge push by the other side because of a power pull?
Do they have a record of accomplishments?
What is their voting history?
Who is funding their campaign?

Unlike many state “republicans” I will not under any circumstances vote for a democrat for anything. That’s how we got Faghorn Leghorn as a governor in the first place. From there I look for my preferred Republican candidate based on their public records and campaign promises

I tend to get the opportunity to meet many of the candidates and ask questions. I look at their platforms and voting history.
For SOS, there’s only one candidate who sees anything wrong with our state’s election system, and that’s Trosclair. I personally think he’s kinda a moron, but he’s partially right about this. His solution of paper ballots is idiotic, but no one else even acknowledged that this is a problem.
For treasurer, both Fleming and McKnight are solid choices. John Fleming was a very conservative congressman from north Louisiana who served in Trump’s cabinet. Scott McKnight is a state senator from Baton Rouge with a background in finance. Either would be a solid choice, imo.
Insurance commissioner is running unopposed.
Lt Governor is the state’s tour guide, so it’s probably the only office Billy Nunguesser will ever be qualified for, and he’s still incompetent. Billy’s going to win, but I voted for Elbert Guillory of Opelousas. He’s a really funny old guy who’s not afraid to make fun of himself a little. This office really should be eliminated.

and thats your fault
they asked you who to vote for and you chose to be an arse instead of giving a serious answer when they would have voted for who you said to vote for

easy:
R over D
male over female
if it is two R males, pick the one with a nickname

I look for the person with a (D) next to their name, and then vote for whoever's running against them.

This is also a solid strategy when trying to decide what Republican to vote for. There are exceptions but if you need something to push you over the edge in favor of one republican over another, this isn’t a bad call with all other considerations being equal

Because I said dude, do some research doesn’t mean I didn’t tell them who to vote for.

Did you vote for him? To me, if you say there is a problem, then completely misrepresent the problem, and have a completely asinine solution that will actually make the problem worse, I'm sure if you get any points for saying there is a problem, when the others say there is no problem.
I voted for Guillory as well. He's the Republican version of Kip.

1) Read their website. Read their plans and ideas. If they don't have any, red flag.
2) Have they been in public office before? If so, look at their records, their history, have they done what they said they were going to do, etc. What bills have they sponsored, even if they were not successfully passed, etc.
3) If it is a local position, try to meet them.

I look at the results that affected myself, my family and my finances.
No doubt Trump made all the above mentioned better. Matter of fact, it was GREAT!, just as he promised to Make America Great Again.
Therefore my vote will be allocated to the Greatest President ever to serve the American People,,,, DONALD J TRUMP !

Not all of his fixes are bad, but the paper ballots is a very bad idea. I voted for him because I thought it would be funny.
