re: Pelicans are not expected to offer BI extension this offseason, moving in new direction
It's odd that he would report it before clark, guillory, etc
Usually these types of things are never reported by the local beat writers
I guess it gives plausible deniability if the trade offers just aren’t there and they decide to pivot back in the last minute ...
Detroit is not guaranteed to draft top 3. They should, but could fall to 5.
The draft lottery is next week, we would know the pick before the trade happens.
Trade couldn’t be finalized before the start of the league year anyway as that’s when Detroit would have the cap space....
ATL gets Brandon, who is the best player in the deal
If you believe this, then why are you sending out picks with him?
The team sending the best player doesn’t also send picks....

The problem with Tobias Harris and you saying you bringing him off the bench is he’s a guy coming off a max contract.
He’s not signing here for less than 30 million, especially with the rumors that Detroit is hot after him (I assume they would be willing to give him a 2 year max just to burn thei...

Detroits pick will almost assuredly be top 3.
Also with a 36 million TPE there’s a multitude of players you can take back, especially from teams over the tax that want to shed salary (one name that comes to mind is Miami)
Say Miami says screw it and decides to blow it up, a 36 million TPE is e...
Which is why a trade of BI for Sexton or Murray helps us have more money under the tax to use.
My favorite trade to save money would be BI to Detroit for Duren and their 1st.
That move would have us around 60 million under the tax, with the ability to use the full 12 million NTMLE...
pretty sure we don’t need the MLE to resign JV.
We don’t, but we also don’t have the money underneath the tax to pay JV and also use the NTPMLE without making a lopsided trade to move off some salary.
The most we will have available to us if we re-sign JV would be the taxpayer M...

This asinine statement shows you have recency bias and know absolutely nothing about Ingram’s value ...

If we give full NTPMLE to Jonas then we have no money left under the tax line and can’t sign anyone else after our draft pick. We are sitting around 16 million under the tax line currently for next season...
Ima keep posting this until it happens or I get let down. The latter more probable.
Pels should not be sending picks to Atlanta in this deal, it should 100% be Cleveland sending picks.
Cleveland gets the best player in the deal, and gives up the third best and a salary throw in.

In reality those two players are injured more than BI and CJ,...
