I agree with this. However, this team sucks at bunting big time. ...
re: How does Slidell compare to New Orleans?
Posted by magicman534 on 5/12/24 at 6:23 am
Slidell is very different from 4 years ago. Rock bottom Interest rates and huge DR Horton communities facilitated Nola east moving to slidell. Now everywhere in slidell stinks like weed and it’s next to impossible to find a handicapped parking space. ...
FYI….Enterprise Truck Rentals has 3/4 and 1 ton vehicles and allows towing
Few years ago when flying into Montana to hunt, we learned to rent from them to get the 3/4 ton. I don’t think it was more expensive than a half ton rental either. ...
Why not just rent a 3/4-ton or 1-ton when you need to tow it?
This is what I would do. Cost of rental would be worth it to me for ease of towing compared to an 1/2 ton and peace of mind. ...
re: Monday cooking and drinking thread
Posted by magicman534 on 5/6/24 at 7:49 pm
My wife wanted to cook as I usually do all the cooking. She cooked the pork chops to 190 degrees. So I’m leaning heavy on a woodford reserve old fashioned tonight. ...
re: Window Tint

I had 5% around and 20% on front window on my single cab Silverado as a young man. No way I could see at nite now. I matched the front windows to the factory on my current truck and it’s good for me. ...
re: Milazzo

I thought the same thing last nite, so happy for this guy. Team leader exemplifying perseverance and commitment to a team. His Defense was always good. Lost starting job due to lack of offense. Earned it back and He has put together some great, patient at bats with clutch hits. ...

I’ve been several times with paradise plus. Capt Pat is awesome. They have a lodge that can easily handle 15 people and have a bunch of captains as well. ...

re: Generator Question
Posted by magicman534 on 5/1/24 at 12:33 pm
Mine is a Harbor Freight predator 8750/7000 inverter. It ran my whole 2800sq foot house except dryer and oven. Water heaters, cooktop is NG. 2 ac units (2.5 ton and 3 ton) with no soft starts, I was able to run my 2.5 ton ac and the fan on the 3 ton in addition to everything else. Gonna put a ...
re: Outdoor TV Recs

I bought a cheap insignia for my outdoor kitchen. 3 years and still rocking. Actually, the cheap insignia outdoors outlasted the 70” Samsung in my living room. ...
re: DR Horton new construction framing finds by home inspector
Posted by magicman534 on 4/28/24 at 7:10 am
DSLD and DR Horton don’t even belong in the same sentence. DSLD is still cookie cutter, but it’s much better build quality and reputation
My mom just bought a new house from DSLD in Abita. I walked thru it several times while being framed and electrical and plumbing rough ins and ...
re: Recommendations for washing brick exterior
Posted by magicman534 on 4/25/24 at 10:32 am
I imagine you can just pressure wash brick no problem.
I did this at my old house when I was younger. Be very careful. I actually blasted the finish off the bricks and was left with red bricks 2 feet up from slab. ...
re: Everyone should request an itemized hospital bill, it is really interesting
Posted by magicman534 on 4/23/24 at 3:56 pm
I agree. I was in the hospital for new onset Afib in February. I was there for 40 hrs, 17 of them sitting in the ER waiting for an inpatient bed, 27k. 13k for freaking IV fluids. Also, I’m an employee at the hospital. ...
He hit a HR this weekend on an off speed pitch..
It’s very noticeable how much better he is at recognizing and hitting off speed pitches this year compared to how abysmal he was last year and even now compared to the season start. ...
The standard 200 yamaha being an in-line 4 cyl just doesn't have the oomph that the V6 versions do. A 225 SHO or 250 would be ideal on that boat.
I can attest to this. I have a 224xts and if I’m alone or with my son fishing, the 200 is ok but i would still rather a 250 so I could c...
re: Backwoods “buck trio”
Posted by magicman534 on 4/13/24 at 4:43 pm
I put out a protein feeder recently. I put corn on the bottom, a corn/protein blend, then straight protein pellets on top. Even with corn on the bottom it took the deer a few weeks to figure out what the hell the feeder was. Now I have pics everyday of them with their noses in the chutes. ...
