The rule is fine, it just wasn't applied correctly.
For instance, if your screenshots were actually taken down the baseline, as you incorrectly depicted with your drawing, Milazzo would've actually slid behind the base.
Yet somehow, he actually ended up right on top of it. Odd.

I think LSU is dead in the water.
Have to beat Wofford then North Carolina twice with no Jump or Holman and Christian Little isn't available either.
Two or three bullpen guys will have to have the games of their lives, it happened in Omaha last year but it's a tall task.
