The scheduling of two early-season Arkansas football games led athletic director Hunter Yurachek to release a statement this week blaming ESPN and urging the network and the SEC to “aggressively pursue an alternative solution”... (Awful Announcing)

“Student-athletes” haha they get paid to play a game. They have a long plane ride to get rested up. With the nfl scheduling WED games, they need to learn sometime.

Wasn't it the AD that scheduled a road game at Utah the week before the SEC opener?

Move the Georgia game from the 11am slot to 9:15pm. Problem solved and everyone is happy.

LSU had a similar issue in 2009, when we had to play Washington in Seattle and the game ended past midnight Central time...fortunately, we played Vandy at home the next week and not someone like Georgia.

This is a stupid complaint. The week before, SMU plays a MONDAY night Labor Day game in Tallahassee, then plays a home game FIVE days later at 3:00 pm (against UC-Davis, but that doesn't really matter if the issue is the "welfare of the young men" and not competitive issues). We get that nobody likes 11:00 am games, but don't pretend that it's a safety issue. Would it really make that much difference if they pushed the kickoff time back a few hours?

Real solution - severance package and Arkansas hires a competent AD. He has done this to our program.

These are paid professionals, stop your f'ing whining and man the hell up. NFL will play a Sunday game and then a Thursday night game. If they were real students with real student problems I could understand.. but they will be flying charter, they don't have to do class work because it's done for them, everything is given to them.. and now they make more money in 1 year than many of the real students will make in 10.

Seriously, just shut the f up.

I find this somewhat interesting:

Arkansas Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek serves as the chair of the College Football Playoff (CFP) Selection Committee.

I'm guessing he doesn't want Arkansas back on Black Friday?

It is a crap situation. A short week and a flight before Georgia does suck.

I would be happy if that were LSU.

The SEC, and Sankey in particular, got in bed with ESPN.
Now Sankey is saying that the ESPN deal is undervalued.
Sankey got suckered into going to a 9 game conference schedule by the B1G and also placated the greedy nature of ESPN.
Sankey said it himself: "ESPN is interested in increasing their inventory.."

If you want a competitive SEC again, get rid of Sankey and go back to putting the program's best interests first.

Not sure what the elevation is in Utah, but it could be good for conditioning.

j/k...this sucks. I miss when CBS would scramble the ESPN times. Now they have no competition and can do whatever they want.
