The Houston Rockets are searching for trades that would clear a roster spot to convert two-way standout Garrison Mathews to their 15-man roster, according to league sources. Veterans D.J. Augustin, Danuel House Jr., Daniel Theis and Eric Gordon are all viewed around the league as viable trade candidates.

Sato for DJ Augustin+Danuel House works. House is on a $3.9M expiring. Gary Clark’s deal is non-guaranteed, so you could cut him to make roster room. Then you have until January 10 (when Didi comes back) to figure out how to trim the roster.

Was this already known? I cant remember talking about knowing for sure if we offered that. That was a strong offer.

Indiana had a decent roster and I guess figured they could make a run with what they had. I always thought they under achieved the past few years. In 2019 they had Turner, Brogdon, TJ Warren, Oladipo (injured?) and Sabonis. Thats some pretty good talent.

It was known and discussed on draft night. I think that I might have argued that the #4 pick was too much to give up for Turner, lol. But I don't know if that was the deal straight up. We might have asked for their pick in return or something -- I don't think that anyone knows the exact details on what was discussed. But, yeah, what was claimed was that Indiana would not make Turner available in any deal.

But that's one of those trades that would have ended up being a lot better for both teams.

I’m not sure this came up in the Zion draft. I know it was discussed mid season and the previous draft when we selected Kira.

We weren’t giving up the #4 pick for Turner, and considering that was traded back for more picks and cap space I doubt he was the original target. Plus we had Jaxson on our radar for a while.

We will get pennies on the dollar for Jaxson, but I am ready for him and NAW to be anywhere else but here.

I agree. We need more professionals who can provide solid minutes with consistent results. We have too many young projects and not enough guys we can trust. I’m fine keeping NAW, but I’m not ok keeping NAW, Jax, Kira, Didi and Naji. All are young and are getting small minutes. You can’t take up so many roster spots with projects.

The difference between NAW and Jaxson is that Nickeil works very hard, and Jaxson does not.

Nickeil represents the organization well. Jaxson tells the league to suck his d**k and gets arrested when people think that he's a threat to beat up his girlfriend.

The fact that Hayes is on the block now means that Willie Green is ready to move on from him, and that says a lot.

That’s enough for me. Willie has whomever is out there playing hard. I trust that he is our long term coach.

previously it was thought that getting high ceiling picks was best way to achieve escape velocity from mediocrity.
now that they are all busts we wish pels had memphis bench. a lot of decent but low ceiling guys who will produce in an expected manner. slo mo and tyus jones are both on expiring deals.
tyus has league best assist to turnovers, two years in row.
deal for jones. he can run the half court like a pro the rest of the year. slo mo will cost to keep but he plays defense and can play point forward.
temporary morant absence may increase jones price.
hes just whats needed for pels to have shot at playin.

trade blogs value hayes more than pels fans.
heres hoping some gm with an extra point guard sees a great future for hayes.

I think it would be fitting to trade for Eric Gordon ... a miserable count for a miserable season.

The Pelicans desperately need a veteran presence who can lead this team on the court and who will complement Zion's game if he ever is cleared to play.

Sato and JAX for Ricky Rubio

Provided Rubio extends for two years prior to the trade.
