Why didn’t Forrest contract HIV/AIDS from Jenny?

They never mentioned the disease she got. It’s under the assumption she has Hep-C or HIV/AIDS. She may be the biggest villain of all time.

Forrest was really tight with the US government, which created the disease in the first place so they gave him a cure.

This is most likely. Forrest Jr didn't have teh AIDS either.
Of course, the movie implies AIDS but she really had hep.

The movie doesn’t imply anything that the book doesn’t do either. Hep C was just as unknown in 1982 as HIV was (the syndrome AIDS, called GRID at the time, was known but the virus wouldn’t be discovered until 1983).
It’s just when you say “early 80s”, “unknown virus”, and “dangerous sexual practices/IV drug use”, audiences immediately think of HIV/AIDS first.

It’s actually a lot rarer than that. The insertive vaginal sex transmission rate is 0.04%. Most heterosexual men either catch it from their wives/long-term partners or by engaging in extremely risky sexual behavior with many other promiscuous people (Prostitutes and other sex workers). The probability of having heterosexual sex with a HIV positive person one time and catching HIV is very, very low.

You mean those ads they used to run on MTV? Even for heterosexuals, the likelihood of contracting HIV increases with number of sexual partners. Probably not a bad idea to remind the 18-25 year olds, with a new sexual partner every month, to exercise some caution.

Because she got it AFTER she had his kid.
He didn't have sex with her later on.
