At least it’s true this year. Other years…questionable

They do have some young kids out there but some of the youth is misleading due to the COVID year. A lot of kids who are sophomores have been here for 3 years, 4 years for the 'juniors'.

But you can't blame youth when your two 4th and 5th year pitchers have given up nearly 10 runs to a above average SDSU offense.

You know things are bad when D'Angelo is looking at his phone and not jumping up and down on every pitch.

The question is whether the blame is with the coaches or with Sunseri and Wickersham. Torina has shown she can develop pitchers in the past. Has the game changed in such a way that her pitching techniques are no longer effective? I ask that as an honest question since I really don’t know the technical aspects of softball pitching.

Hoover/Walljasper withstanding, the development has not been there since those two graduated. Granted Kilponen was better than her freshmen year but the entire staff top to bottom has gone backwards. That tells me a more systemic issue going on.

I've gotten 5 text messages from high school coaches in Texas tonight asking how does he always get those seats... I've actually had a girl who is going to play at a Power 5 school tell me that he turned her off from LSU...

It's really sad to see the way Sunseri has performed this year. She was once a very, very good pitcher.

This certainly has been a very lackluster showing so far, except for Newland and maybe Morgan Smith.
I may be wrong but it has been my feeling that in the games the competitors look more into the game and wanting to win while LSU is just there.
It doesn’t help that your pitching aces are not doing the job and that your third and fourth batters have been on a long slump…

Fear this is going to be a quick trip. Fullerton or ASU will be tough to beat. Especially the way our pitchers give up the long ball.
