Just looked and for Games 1 and 2 in Houston, they’re running around $700 each for standing room only, nearly a grand each for seats not in the nosebleeds in deep right or left field, and well over a grand for seats in the 100 level. Those prices are crazy.
They will likely drop. Last year, I paid $750 each (without fees) for Game 1. Seats were in lower-level RF, 14 rows up. On the morning of the game, the same section was down to $480 each.

I was able to get one in 423 for Game 6. I think it ran me $349, so yeah they're charging at least double right now it seems.

Congrats on the economics lesson

quote:Best advice I can give you is try to purchase at "face value" from Ticketmaster when they go on sale. I was able to buy two last year IN ATLANTA for $1300 total using this method. Secondary market tickets were significantly more than $700 for SRO. No clue what they were like in Houston.

I paid 350 for game 7 2019 in section 107 about 12th row.

I’ll go down to a bar by the stadium and wait until the first pitch is thrown then pick up a decent priced one from someone who was holding out too high.

Yep, no reason to buy early. I bought lower level Game 6 last year for like $800. By game day they were half that.

The basic rule is that prices double for every round of the playoffs. Seats that are $85 in the regular season are $160 for first round, $320 for CS and $640 for WS. Standing room only tickets are actually more expensive and more popular than tickets in 405,406, and 407. I sold standing room only tickets thru FB groups for $500 each in 2019.
If you want to go to a game, your best bet is one of 2-3 FB groups where season tickets holders sell. They vet their member and you can see that they've made many sales before. They do jack up prices some, but there are no fees.
Oh...concession prices go up almost at the same rate as ticket prices.

Also, a lot of the problem is that MLB takes about half of the lower level tickets between 107 and 132. All those STH's get moved to upper rows of the lower bowl or the very end sections (106-105, etc.). Much of the lower bowl is just flat out unavailable for purchase. There are multiple presale levels for all the different levels of STH's as well. By the time the first seats are sold to the general public, there's just not many for sale at all. STH's buy upper level seats and sell their lower ones and almost pay for next season's tickets.

I went to game 6 last year. Paid $300. So if the Astros are down in the series, you will likely see a price drop.
