Do you actually think the OP actually said that no matter what he would base his decision based on TD OT lounge? If so, you are a dumbass

Then why even ask the question. If you have to ask where you should be looking you clearly aren’t even prepared to move. Do research, look up home prices, school systems, etc and narrow it down. Then if you want the OTs opinion on the place you pick go for it.

These threads are so stupid, I’m just gonna name a random city in MS and OP can waste his time looking into it.

I have two businesses in New Orleans that can run remotely for the most part (healthcare), but this place has declined to a point that I can no longer justify staying regardless of the businesses. I have to be able to drive in every 7-10 days and deal with some things for work, but wife and I are looking to potentially move with our 4 kids to MS gulf coast.

So where does the OP currently live and how old are his kids and where do they go to school?

We just did that. I'm back in town every 2-3 weeks. Moved to Baldwin County (eastern shore mobile bay). Love it so far.

It was the same reasons. Got tired of the violence and the generally shitty attitudes.

It's a shame as I really enjoyed New Orleans for a while but it went from a good to bad value in cost-benefit so we got out.

What kind of neighborhood do you want to live in?

You want property or neighborhood?

The Oaks in pass (golf course). I actually have some friends that are moving that will be selling their place next year.

Stablewood across from the oaks (this would be my pick if I was looking) houses are decent size and lots are large

Belle Terre in Long Beach

Timber Ridge in pass has a little bit of everything and has homes on water if you wanted that

Copper Ct in Long Beach is nice

Florence Gardens

There’s several others just need to know what your looking for

Exactly

The OP claims to have 2 businesses and 4 kids but can’t figure out a place to raise his family??

I really wonder how some of you people actually get out of bed and dress yourselves every morning.

Wise choice to move to the MS coast, we did it 5 years ago from shithole BR. Bay St Louis is pretty awesome and an hour drive back to NOLA if you have to go there. Any other town along the coast except for Gulfport or Biloxi are good choices. Those are just too busy/crowded for quiet family life on the coast.

Go away. Coast is full.

Influx of citizens, particularly productive ones like the OP help drive property values and tax base in their destination.

Added bonus the death spiral in NOLA continues.

I'm in Ocean Springs and we love it. Try and get something in the golf cart district.

Anything downtown, Lover's Lane or East Beach area .

Honestly I’d just move to Metairie. You are going to see a noticeable difference in the schools your kids will attend compared to where they attend now. For example, I just looked and only 61% of the Ocean Springs high school graduates go to college.

Been seeing that myself in Pearl River County. Most new residents are decent people from middle to upper middle class. Whole lotta LA transplants myself included

If you’re looking to move to get away from New Orleans, why not move to someplace nicer than the MS Gulf Coast and just fly into New Orleans every 7-10 days.

Would be my answer as well. Dallas is $50 rountrip still. Direct to Norfolk these days. Think even Charleston is direct.

Business expense. Easy decision.

If you own a business maybe you need to go to Nola on short notice vs having to book a flight, wait in security etc.

Also, not everyone with a family would rather live in Dallas over somewhere like Bay St Louis. I wouldn't.

I grew in BR, lived there after college, lived in Dallas twice, Jackson and have been in Pass Christian for just over 20 years. Wouldn't live anywhere else. Ocean Springs is the most progressive area with the closest things to do shop, eat, etc... I'm biased to the Pass because I live there and we live in The Oaks. Stablewood, which across the street from us is nice and then another neighborhood is Magnolia Walk.

Bay St. Louis is okay but to me, they really don't have neighborhoods and living downtown or on the water is really expensive. And, houses can be hard to find.

Long Beach would be a pass for me. That area just seems to have little to no building restrictions.

Diamondhead would be a no way in hell for me. Looks like a flashback to the Brady Bunch.

Gulfport and Biloxi - decent public schools and several neighborhoods. Traditions, Lauren Falls are a couple.
