We are in a delayed democracy. The politicians appoint the judges. Do you think the 9th circuit court follows the constitution?

It works better on a smaller scale, you can always move across state lines.

I'm more inclined to local governments having more power. As long as they aren't directly violating someone's rights like preventing them from speaking or siezing their weapons. But if they want high taxes in their county, and the people want that, by all means. Then people can just vote with their feet and move to the next county or even state over.

The typo caused your little sentence to make absolutely no sense.

are you intentionally being obtuse? trump never said to inject bleach or any disinfectant.

"His comments came after William Bryan, the undersecretary for science and technology at the Department of Homeland Security, presented a study that found sun exposure and cleaning agents like bleach can kill the virus when it lingers on surfaces"

trump's comments was...

"A question that probably some of you are thinking of if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposedly we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. (To Bryan) And I think you said you’re going to test that, too. Sounds interesting, right?"

He continued.

"And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning, because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that, so that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute. That’s pretty powerful."

Metaphorically it still made sense.

It makes sense you would not understand a pretty simple metaphor.

Can you tell me the last time you’ve heard a politician or a media talking head say something like “save our Republic” like the do with the word democracy?

What system do YOU advocate?

“Republic” is just a form of democracy, so that is apparently “out.”

Hereditary monarchy? Enlightened dictatorship? How would this enlightened despot be selected? Certainly not “democratically,” right? Drawing lots for the job?

That is why our constitution is so important - but only if used as a defense - and not as a weapon.

'democracy' was an anathema to our founders - and to any rational minded patriotic American.

Pure democracy only works at very local and personal levels, and then only for casual matters - it should NEVER be used for existential issues. Survival requires some degree of expertise from any leadership.

Popularity is more of a risk than it is a benefit for serious issues.

And in political matters - no freedom loving people can be properly governed if one faction decides to bribe the lowest levels of intelligence and productivity and responsibility into 'voting for' free stuff provided by the productive members of society.

That can only end in oligarchy or tyrant.

If we were all Saints, no government would be necessary - If we were all amoral no government can succeed.

But you know all that - Our constitution was designed for a 'moral and religious' population - according to Franklin.

And he was right - once one political party decides to promote immorality and corruption as their primary 'virtues' no system of government can withstand the onslaught of pernicious legislation that promotes and defends the irresponsible and degenerate while holding the moral, responsible populace to unattainable standards.

But you know that

You are a willing participant in the promotion of the corrupt, amoral, secular, unproductive 'vote for cutest boy' attitude promoted by the Democrat party.

Should 51% submit to 49%?

If polls and elections are accurate, and not fake, and the Dems really are the 51% the media would have you believe.

Then I would simply say it's the 51% asking the 49% to submit, not the other way around. It's the 51% looking to ban and seize guns from the 49%, and sending them to gulag, and redoing their states election laws by federal fiat. It's the 51% robbing the 49% blind every time Congress is in session, and then doing it via EO even when they are not.

So no, the 51% should not have to submit either. But the 49% has never asked them to.

A Constitutional Republic should have some democratic processes. But when people say "democracy", the implication seems to be that society and all its rules and systems are constantly subject to the whims of even a slim majority. This is a complete disaster and unsustainable.

Simply eliminating the 16th and 17th Ammendments would solve alot of issues. The Senate was never supposed to be a direct democracy election. The whole point was for the Senate to represent the state legislature at the Federal level.

Also, between the FED and income tax, politicians can simply bribe voters with unendless giveaways that cab never be paid back. This is also unsustainable.
