So I have approx. a 80 ft x 4' flowerbed that needs weeding and mulching. Also there are some bushes that need to be removed or trimmed. Does anyone know a reasonable cost for landscape maintenance cost? I found a young guy looking for work and he's asking for me to set a budget.

Kind of odd if it's a one time job. Unless he's picking out plants for you.

Agree to an hourly wage.
Give him a credit card or gift card for any purchases he needs to make.

$60 per hour is reasonable. Landscape companies charge $85 per man hour on average.

Post a couple of pictures and I’ll give you a quick idea on what a landscape company would charge.

The kid should be less than that

You are looking at about 25 bags of mulch or 10-12 bales of pinestraw.

Depending on how bad of shape the beds are I will depend on the rest of the cost.

Is that grass that has grown into the beds around the bushes?

Be prepared to get a lot of extremely high quotes.

Are you able to do any of it yourself? If you cleaned it all out the quotes these guys will give you would be a lot lower.

Good point, that'll be a big chunk of the man hours. I could pull the weeds myself.

The young guy did just quote me $1800 for the flower bed clean-up and restoration, just to keep his business rolling. From my limited knowledge that sounds like a pretty good price for everything?
