This has turned into the Michael Barnett show.

Well, they found the birth mother in Ukraine, took her DNA, proved she was the mother. She says she was born in 2003. Also, MD has her X-rays that show her “plates hadn’t opened”, meaning scientifically she was a child when she was re-aged.
No question, she was a child. But judge ruled her age cannot be brought into evidence even though judge mistakenly re aged her. This is insanity.

Yeah the court ruling that the jury couldn't be told her actual age was peak stupidity.
Pretty fascinating that Michael never once said he loved Natalia or got emotional when alleging his ex-wife beat the shite out of her. Yet he cried instantly when talking about his sons, claiming the ex-wife mentally abused him, or when the trial was over. Everything was about him.
Seems like this couple were narcissistic pieces of shite whose adopted disabled daughter became too much of an inconvenience for them. And when their marriage went south, they tried to deflect blame on one another.

Just curious. I don't think thats unreasonable. Very difficult to know what's what with all the lies, exagerations, agendas, etc.
IMhO she was 6 to 8 years old at the time of her adoption by the Barnetts, based mostly on photos from 2009-2010 showing the recent loss of her deciduous maxillary central incisors and the subsequent eruption of the permanent teeth.
But I could be totally wrong. Seems like every time I think I have this story figured out, I come across a new detail that unravels what I thought I knew.

I don’t know enough about speech and language development to offer and real educated opinion, but I also find this odd.
Should be noted though, the only account I’ve seen saying she didn’t understand Ukrainian is from the Barnetts. And I don’t trust a word that comes out of their mouths (the mom and dad, that is. Jacob seems sincere and consistent to me).

I'm watching now. I don't think I'm in enough to make a full call on the situation. But, the dad is dramatic as frick. And I imagine he and his wife at least fed this weird behavior some with how dramatic they are

Do we even know for sure that she’s gone through puberty?
Natalia and Cynthia Man’s (the lady that eventually took her in) both said in an interview that Natalia has never had a period.
The whole thing could’ve been another lie by the Barnetts.
Or that poor child could’ve had bleeding from sexual abuse.
