Upon reading the letter, it is clear to me that he is a predator who groomed her. His writing style is one that would appeal to a young girl; he does not write the way a typical thirty-year-old, educated man writes. That talk about them being married leads me to believe that he performed some type of ceremony to delude the young girl into thinking they were truly married in God’s eyes, thus paving the way for them to enter into a sexual relationship. This is sickening.

Agreed. This is not normal correspondence between a functional grown man and a young woman. It sounds like he's a teenager. This man is not right.

It would be really easy for a priest to cobble together a faux wedding ceremony to make it appear legitimate.

Yeah he sounds a lot more educated otherwise (sermons, in person, etc.). This is clearly intentional and so creepy
