Its the narrative people have decided to re-rewrite about the civil war too - that it wasn't about slavery, it was about a states ability to self govern. People really believe that?

Slavery was a part of it but was most certainly not the only thing that led to the Civil War. Anyone that believes that slavery was the sole reason is as ignorant as those that believe it had absolutely nothing to do with it.

It was never about states rights to me. For me abortion is morally evil and must be banned outright. It reduces a human being to nothing more than disposable property that a mother can confer personhood or death upon on a whim.

And it was always about states rights to me. Hence my becoming enraged when morons like Ms. Lindsey immediately started talking about a national ban.

You might want to read 18 U.S. Code § 1111 and get back to us.

The war of northern aggression was absolutely about states rights. Lincoln was a regional candidate that only won because it was a three way race. He wasn’t even on the ballot in many states, and he represented shady Chicago industrial tycoons for a living before they helped him get elected to Congress. The Tariff of Abominations set the stage for secession, but Lincoln lit the fire when he invaded South Carolina.

Mike Johnson made the best point re: a nationwide abortion ban in the Hannity Interview. Under Dobbs such a nationwide ban would likely be unconstitutional.

You’re looking to Trump sycophants who think we should move further to the left cus then we’d win. They are clowns. Ignore them.

This has always been about the life of an unborn child. You ghouls on the left have dehumanized babies so it’s easier for you to murder them.

That should be obvious but it's not to some.

It wasn't and it never will be. But the victors write the history.

It was always and will always be about growing a colossal federal government and bureaucracy.

People wanting the federal government to override a states decision on this issue?

You mean idiots like Lindsey Graham...who thought it would be a great idea to bring this shite up before the 2022 elections?

I think abortion is abhorrent and am very much against it. But I am also a small "f" federalist and believe individual states should make their own decisions about that sort of thing.

I shouldnt be able to impose my morals on other states and they shouldn't be able to impose their absence of them on me.

Pretty callous answer when half a million people died over an unnecessary power trip by Emperor Lincoln. The Constitution and Liberty lost.

You're right. This has shown that any bit of celebration about Dobbs was not about states' rights. If it were, people would shrug their shoulders about Ohio even if they disagreed.

Abortion is a losing issue except for a handful of states. If you hate Abortion so much, move there

Gotta love the celebrators of infanticide.

I'm sure the same people celebrate the level of illegal immigration this nation is facing.

If the feds can create a national law that the gays can get "married" then a national law on abortion can be created. Obviously the extent of that law will depend on the support in Congress.

Democrats love supporting things that stump proper societal growth via procreation.

It was about states rights. Lincoln didn’t even make slavery an issue until after Antietam in September of 1862.

The South had a right to secede. There wasn’t anything in the Constitution at that time that prohibited it. In fact, James Madison believed:

Hamilton and Madison hoped secession would never happen, but they never denied that it was a right and a practical possibility. They envisioned the people taking arms against the federal government if it exceeded its delegated powers or invaded their rights, and they admitted that this would be justified. Secession, including the resort to arms, was the final remedy against tyranny. (This is the real point of the Second Amendment.)

Hamilton and Madison were correct.
