Isn't Cholera still somewhat common in India, one of the most unsanitary countries on Earth?

I remember someone posted a map of India, and it interposed parts of India finally getting indoor plumbing over the past 40 years with Cholera outbreaks, and there was obviously a direct correlation.

So when Zimbabwe was a colony the sewage system worked. Once they are independent it went to shite.

Why was colonization bad for them again?
