Because LSU/NIL backers pay him a nice salary to play. He’s not an amateur. All of these players are now pros and should act, and be treated, accordingly.

Will he still be paid NIL money? Will he get the bowl swag? Travel and enjoy bowl parties?

That's another way of saying, "Most Heisman winners are from teams with a chance of winning the Title."

You think have 4 teams eligible to win a championship instead of 2 is the reason bowl games are diminished?

And when Nuss screws the pooch with three picks and LSU comes up short of a 10th win, will you blame Coach Kelly?

Wisconsin is not a joke. LSU’s D is a proven joke.

UW will punch you in the mouth. LSU needs all hands on deck. Including JD.

Happens when your coach can’t put a decent defense out there to save his life. BK doesn’t get enough backlash for this

LSU will still be favored after Jayden's opt out. LSU is the more talented team and should win the game with Nuss, who is one of the best backup QBs in the country.

Wisconsin went 7-5 and has 11 players in the transfer portal. If LSU scores 35 and wins by 10 will you quit bitching?

..or all prior Heisman winners, who were not draft eligible, played before opt-outs was a thing.

Nuss is an overall average QB with a live arm. JD was far, far superior to Nuss and Nuss knew it. And I don’t know where you guys find LSU that more talented except for WRs (if available).

Oddsmakers are already dropping the spread. Expect it to be near 5 at game time as more opt outs announce.

Would you want your son to risk injury in the Bowl Game?

My money says JD5 wanted to play but enough people talked him out of it

How long have you been waiting for any excuse to criticize JD?

Is it your career on the line?

He played 2 full seasons, gave us our first home win against Bama in over a decade, carried a pathetic defense to 9 wins, and won the 3rd ever Heisman in LSU history with one of the greatest offensive performances ever.

Jayden has more than earned anything he’s received and he gave a ton back to LSU as well. We now have TWO transfer QB Heisman winners in 5 years. Ya think others aren’t going to notice this and see if they can be next?

He’s not on the hook for anything at this point, and his parting gift is a chance for our new QB1 to see action against a P5 team. Jayden deserves nothing but respect and support from the LSU community.

I don't have any criticism of JD's decision whatsoever.

I thank him for the show and wish the young man the best.

The diminishing of bowl games isn't specific to the playoff.

We've entered an era where there's nothing keeping kids that are ready to move on or whose best interest is to move on from moving on.

You could go back to the a single championship game and players moving to the NFL largely wouldn't be playing in bowl games.
