been using this one for years. Fyi, as of about a year ago I only fill "Flame King" bottles for the extra safety factor. Same adaptor fills them too.

Put the small bottle in the freeze for a little bit before you refill it and turn the big bottle upside down when refilling.

Very important to do these two. The warmer bottle will transfer to the cooler. And it needs to be upside down so you transfer liquid and not just vapors.
Also, when unhooking you need to unhook the small 1lb tank from the connector first.

I've noticed if you're filling one that's completely empty it will only fill about 8 oz (I weighed) the first time. I put it back in the fridge a bit then attach again. Usually get about 15 ounces total into a tank.

I just refilled some this week after putting in the freezer. I have a digital scale and weighed them. I was getting 13-14 oz of propane in them. Not “full” I guess. But for the price I’m happy with them.

You store the small bottles in the freezer? Or just put them in for a bit before you refill them?

By putting the small bottles in the freezer first there is a chance to "overfill" them. No "fiery" explosion like you see on TV, but the walls of the bottles may distort and expand out. This happened to several of mine and I threw them out (although they still worked). I would weigh them as filling to ensure they don't overfill especially if you put the green bottles in the freezer. Don't just hook them up and not pay attention.

if you weigh and find an liquid full container you should connect to a torch and make some vapor space.

Never knew this was a thing.

Definitely worth it. A 3 pack at academy is $17.

At Stines yesterday they had a single for $8 like it was some kind of good deal. Refilling is definitely worth it to me.
