How long did you lurk on these forums before joining?

I got this idea from another thread.....
I don't post here much, but lurking this board is what got me to join and start posting in the other sub-forums. I still mostly just read, but I was reading others posts on here for a year daily before I made an account.
I was curious how long other's knew of/read on her before making an account.

When I found the site you had to have an active college ID to access the boards so I joined right away.

It was a year or so, maybe.
I was active on the old AOL board and many of us migrated to (I might be misremembering this) something called "Tiger Vent" (or something like that).
They instituted a paywall or some other policy change and most of us made our way over here. The rest, as they say, is history.

I found TD and enjoyed reading LSU threads about the UF/LSU games in the early 00s (like 03). Never joined until 2020.

3 years. 2003 was the big year that sites started requiring user registration. I resisted for as long as I could. Wild west internet was one of the greatest things mankind has ever created, and as we always do, we ruined it.

I’d stumble across the OT anytime I’d google anything BR related (mechanic, restaurants, etc.). I’d read a few posts, get disgusted, and leave. I don’t know what changed, but I started to realize a lot of the comments here are like caricatures of real life and though it was amusing, so I grew thicker skin.
