Fresh off his fourth Super Bowl win, #Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo has signed a contract extension. Well-deserved.

It should be a lifetime contract.

ETA: If any assistant coach/coordinator deserves to be in Canton, it's Spags. 4 SB's as a DC speaks for itself.

Does he have HC aspirations or is he content being an elite DC?

I'm hope this explains Zimmer in his new role as DC with the Cowboys because Dan Quinn up and quit on them.

He was the Rams HC back in the day. Flamed out horribly. He’s found his niche. Elite DC who can win more rings being paired with Pat and lead a chill life not having the stress of being a HC again.

And he was kind of a bitch HC from what I recall and didn’t want references to thr GSOT around when he was in St. Louis.

He's been a HC. I think he's done with that IMO.

He's the perfect example of someone that's not a HC but knows it.

Dennis Allen is a similar type, really great on one side of the ball but not a leader of men

I'm interested to see this defense without Chris Jones for a whole season. It's crazy how he directly impacted basically 3 probable touchdowns in the SB alone.

He was our DC when we had one of the worst defenses ever, but a lot of that was talent/fit.

His defenses in KC weren't great in year 1. He had to build and develop the defense (good drafting helped). We just didn't have the guys to run his scheme, and fired him before any sort of merging could occur.

His defenses have always been built DL first. We had Will Smith, Cam Jordan, Akiem Hicks, Brodrick Bunkley, and Junior Galette. That is a ton of talent on paper. They just could not get to the QB at all.

Also, starting Sedrick Ellis for all 16 games is the biggest sign of a terrible defense.

Spags is elite when he has a game wrecker on tbe DLine. When the Giants won both SBs, he had dudes all over the DLine.

It will be very interesting to see what he can do without a top talent in that position group.

What a turnaround for this guy. From one of the worst DCs in the game to one of the best.

When does Vince McMahon poach the NFL and sign Bill Vinovich and his Super Bowl 58 referee crew?

I wouldn’t be too hard on him. The Rams didn’t have a winning season from 2004-2016.

The franchise was in the ditch when he got there.

Placxico Burris has a great quote about Spagnulo Saturday.
Talking about Spags experience and success, Burris said " Spag's not new to this, he's true to this"
That's when I knew the Niners were fricked.

Spags is probably going to make $5M/yr as the DC. Why would he ever leave?
